This misuse is essentially for a political purpose. Not only has this seriously damaged the credibility of the CBI but has also lowered the level of professionalism in the organization. The gathering of evidence during investigation has seriously suffered. Investigations are increasingly becoming tainted with a political motive. The conviction rate in CBI cases has declined.
The news reports that the CBI has been interrogating senior officers of the Intelligence Bureau assumes significance in this regard. The case in which the Intelligence Bureau officials have been investigated relates to the alleged encounter of Ishrat Jahan. Media reports and court documents available with regard to this case reveal that the IB through its’ intelligence gathering network including electronic surveillance received information that a Lashkar-e-Taiba module was active in Western India in the year 2004 with the object of wanting to assassinate Gujarat Chief Minister – Narender Modi. In accordance with its’ own practice, the IB alerted the Gujarat police. Kejriwal feed's on public's anger and resentment towards ruling government. He is calling on 'common man' who is buried under the burden of inevitable price
hikes and inflation. He is using their hope that things will get well if they over-throw the ruling party, to his own profit.
Many of his ideas, such as fixing prices for essential commodities, are deeply socialist, and will take India further down the path of ruin. We need serious
policy thinkers to come forward, not economics illiterates.
Actually media is unnecessarily trying to magnify tyhe so called "differences" between Anna Hazare and Kejriwal to sensationalize.By doing this they are playing into the hands of the insecure politicians already feeling jittery over series of exposure by K. Used to absolute power and no accountability for over six decades ,the political class is really finding it difficult to reconcile or adapt itself to an altogether a new set of rational expectations of people. Fundamentally there is no difference between Anna and K--both want 'clean politics'. Anna is hesitant on direct 'politics' because he is not very confident that such a 'polity' is practicable thanks to the current crop of politicians.However if he had his way ,in the heart of heart he would certainly like to be a party to a 'clean alternative' to the present rule of the set of self seekers.So, there is nothing wrong, Anna can continue with his crusade and K with his 'clean alternative'. If Anna could co-exist with the current corrupt political dispensation he can as well be relevant and inspiration to the new initiative of K&co.
