The Congress has a lot to answer for
by Jai Neo on Oct 15, 2012 10:43 AM  | Hide replies

It is the sheer ineptness of the BJP led NDA Opposition in higlighting the corruption & inefficiency of the Congress led UPA, that resulted in the political space for anti-corruption movements went to people like Arvind Kejriwal, Anna Hazare, the Bhushans and Baba Ramdev.

The questions raised by Kejriwal & Prashant Bhushan of the IAC definitely merit investigation. Robert Vadra has earned more money than a Tata or Ambani or Birla during the past 5 years as his net worth went from 50 lakhs to over 500 crores! What are the unique qualities or business talents that Vadra has? Or how were forged letters sent to the UP government which resulted in Salman Khurshid's trust being allotted public money?

It is indeed surreal and bizzare to see the Congress sycophants waste no time in running to the rescue of "honourable" Vadra-ji though Vadra-ji is not a Congress minister, party functionary or MP or MLA!And India's Finance Minister Chidambaram, has the gall & brazenness to say that these were transactions between 2 private entities! Is that not the typical defense Jagan Reddy put up for his transactions with Aurobindo Pharma or India Cements or Obbalapuram Mining? Jagan gets jail while the entire Congress machinery including Union Ministers defend the Jamai Raja of the Congress First Family. What steps has Sonia taken to curb the rampant corruption in UPA 2? Look at CWG, 2G, Coalgate and now Vadra & Salman!

The BJP had its chance and lost it.The Congress is a master of the game and will use every trick in its vice bag to counter Kejriwal and Anna.Of course Anna is great , but what choice did he give the people of India as substitute for the current regime

The BJP has a much cleaner track record than the Congress but it lost it's credibility when it failed to remove Yeddy & rein in the Bellary Reddys. Ramesh Pokhriyal's shenanigans in Uttarakhand too went unchecked for so long. Gadkari too seems to have crooks like Sancheti in his lap!

We need to be careful.the way things are going on in county.
1) Aaj tak has given some evidence that there were corruption in Khurshid trust..now Khurshid has given counter evidence that aajtak is giving news on without knowing correct version..so i think fair deal is..both aajtak and Khrshid should resign until truth comes out..you just can not blame one person and run away with it.
2) we need to be really careful with this guy Arvind. He might be right but not always..he does not believe in parliament and democracy. he is anti-congress rather than anti-corruption.this guy has fixed the electricity of a poor person who did not pay bill..is that ok? and same person was exposed by NDTV that he had 2 AC, coller, washing machine at home.
3) these 5 people of team anna can not remain united then how can they think that 545 MPS be united on crucial issues like Lokpal..
4)This guy AK says..was in income tax..and we could not dare to challenge big VIPS people..so this is why we have corruption in India..if these IAS and executive could have work honestly then no minister alone can do corruption. in Lokpal if need thousands of people to work..how can we think that they won't be corrupt..

hang who are corrupt
by Ashok Gupta on Oct 15, 2012 10:42 AM  | Hide replies

numbers of years back i was reading article of some freelancer in daily news paper that ' in iran 20 people were hanged in view of public for corruption.' then he writes that ' in india the same practice should be adopted to corruption.' then he replies himself that ' if india adopts it then all would be hanged as all indians are somehow involved in corrupt practices.' i leave this topic open to all my friends here for their comments.

I wish him all the best. Yes all of us know about corruption but have no option but to live with it- BJP or Congress. Hope Kejriwal opens everyones eyes and public starts distinguishing between good and evil and is not taken for a ride on caste, religion or some other cooked up criteria.Public's money has been looted from government coffers and public is being asked to pay for the gap in the public finances in the name of reforms and we are gullible enough to believe in that.

A Kejriwal, B. Tech. (IIT) --- 10th Avatar of Lord Vishu as per my opinion.......
Just 10 people like him in every state will help a long way in tracking/ solving many corruption cases and if law is fast, swift justice is there and punishment is swift, free and fair and harsh...this will act as future Deterrent............

a kejriwal is necessary for the system
by subramanian Iyer on Oct 15, 2012 10:38 AM  | Hide replies

I really dont feel that the method adopted by Mr. Arvind Kejriwal is either too over the top or detrimental to him or lacking political acumen in any manner. This has been long over due. It might be naive...but we have been subjected to such gross machiavellian, devious, corrupt and lawless looting by the politicians of all hues, that a naive attack on them looks to be something that will not sustain. It wouldn't take any deep research in history...we have had Tahrir square, Tiannenman Square..all very recently. Not to forget the Marcos of Phillipines. The truth is we are in the throes of anarchy..with everything being played by the politicians to remain in power or garner power and money. As a common citizen there is no more faith left in the political system or the ones governing the country. "Democracy should not be compromised our president screams". But the fact that these politicians are the ones who have made a mockery of democracy in our country. Somebody has to take them to task. I think Arvind Kejriwal is doing exactly what every common would want to do. Taking the policiticans, ministers and MPs to the cleaners is a dream many dream every day. He is just bring that dream to a possibility. Utopian it may seem..but is because..at the other end of the spectrum lies the anarchy.

Vote!
by Ravi G on Oct 15, 2012 10:37 AM  | Hide replies

It may sound boring, but it is important to Vote and give these guys a chance, they cannot be worse than what we have faced already. Please motivate the less literate to not sell their vote for a little money. Watching TV debates as though they are a soap, discussing IAC with friends (or writing a message like I am doing now) is not enough. In fact it gives a false sense of having done something.

Kejriwal
by Miracle on Oct 15, 2012 10:36 AM  | Hide replies

It is important here to realise that when Gandhiji refused any position, he could do so because there were committed people around. Also to be remembered is Bharata (Rama's brother) refused power but Lord Rama persuaded him to take up the duty thrust on him. he agreed to do only as a representative of Lord Rama and using his paduka's symbolically and did his duty without any self interest. Today's Bharats use photographs of their leaders and try to use the position for their own gain. In some ways we might also have to be blamed. Though we all certainly believe the politicians of today to be corrupt, arrogant, brash and have made it a family business, we refuse to take any action. The issue is if Mr.Kejriwal is doing the right thing. I believe in his cause. When we are not ready to take up the mantle, we can definitely support the cause of cleansing the system instead of trying to punch holes in his fight and aspiring motives on his person.
