Current republican party is a fascist party. It is filled with intolerant religious freaks. But India can hardly talk about it with this unlimited reservation system and corruption any way.
Democrats are not friends of India. If you see the track record of both the parties then you will find democrats are more hostile to India then republicans. President Bush was far more friendly than Clinton or even Kennedy.
Democrats like Chuck Schumer are dead against Indian IT companies and if they get a free hand, H1B visa program will be scrapped in few years.
Indians are a natural fit with Republicans. The Republican philosophy of small governments is exactly what India & Indians should emulate. Traditional Indian values of strong families, responsibility, charity & duty, and of course sexual mores are also same as Conservative American GOP values. Two Indian governors now in US, Bobby Jindal & Nikki Haley are both Republicans. The Republican stance on terror is the correct one to confront Islamic terror, unlike Obama's pandering to them.

The so called Paradigm shift is nothing to do with religiosity or cult affiliation. My personal belief is that- the American Asian community were strongly felt the betrayal by the economic policies, that were been upheld by Republican Economists championed by The then Treasury secretary Green Span. And the Bush Administration is the main gearbox that allowed to run so called "Free Private entrepreneurship enterprise" inc. We all know that such dramatized Band wagon landed into Mega Recession in US History. On American-Indian perspective- They, most of them were in the field of small to medium businesses. They were traders and retailers, who were mostly affected and they lost their bread earning devices. Then came 9/11 episode. People start blaming GOPs. Therefore Allegiance has been shifted to DM, specially in case of American-Indian community.
