United Andhra-Pradesh
by R Swaminathan on Oct 02, 2012 09:42 AM  | Hide replies

As a tamil and admirer and well wisher of my telegu indians It pains me to see the demand for division of Andhra Pradesh.Division of states after the British left has been done without thinking about the interest of people or natural resources like water sharing.Earlier Madras Presidency was a common place for all south indians who are culturally similiar and have should live unitedly.
Now dividing AP will reduce the importance of Andhra in national affairs and is detrimental to its interests.Hyderabad has developed into a cosmopolitan city and is home to people from all over india. In my opinion Telengana people if they have grievences must resolve them under united AP.Any division of AP will open the Pandora's Box with demand for division in other states for flimsy reasons and will only benefit the power hungry politicians with no benefit to common man.

Dear Mr. Rajesh
I do not live in telengana but share friendship with many telegus both from Coastal Andhra and telengana. But i do need to ask you as to what difference it makes.Your surname in your e-mail id shows Cowboy which is from the US Western cowboys.Imagine alien country like US can accept people from all over the world and people like you are proud to adopt their cowboy surname but it is difficult to live with similar people of the same country with same language and culture.I fail to understant this paradox.

Well, you could have understood and felt the difference if you ever lived in Telangana. By the way, the second part/name in the ID is the nick name coined by my friend and a Tamil(just wanted to keep in line with your essay, else I have endless respect and great things to write about this guy). Anyway for your information this term is very much native to our nation, India, and it is only expressed in English language.

Dear Mr.Rajesh
If someone addresses with the translated equivalent of Cowboy you would have taken great offenc. In tamil the translation is 'Mattukkara payal'You may ask your tamil friend what it means.Try calling any tamil in TN by the above name and you will be prosecuted for defamation.
Such is the acceptance of an alient toungue "English'that you accept it with honour?
Coming to the subject,I have travelled extensively in the country including the so called telengana. There is lot more development in telengana compared to many othe regions of the country and your aspiration are higher that is a positive sign.Charity begins at home.Try and emulate the gujaratis, marwaris and the punjabies. They do not complain.Their verynature is enterprise and hardwork and hence they prosper.
Ultimately,it is you who can make the difference. No point in playing the blame game.
you are what you want to be.
United we rise, divided we fall

1972 Repeats
by Al Ringer on Oct 02, 2012 06:20 AM

KCR by staying back in Delhi even on the day of Telangana March is signalling that after-all he is not really interested in separate Telangana. He has perhaps used the Telangana issue to for political leverage.

The wealth amassed in 30 years of political life is beginning to be of nuisance. He is camping in Delhi to find allies who will plead his case with authorities to protect his interests.

It is but natural when a person is struggling to keep his gains, he will spare his time and energies for public issues.

The irony is that this man resurrected almost a dead issue of separate Telangana and now when the momentum is picking up, he has lost interest on the issue altogether.

Politics works in unpredictable ways.

People of Telangana have been fooled once again by the leader himself. It was Chenna Reddy in 1972 and now it is KCR in 2012.

On linguistic states
by jayaram nagarajan on Oct 02, 2012 05:47 AM  | Hide replies

A havoc has already been created by formation of linguistic states leading to fissiparous tendencies. The start for linguistic states was made for Andhra by Potti Sriramulu Naidu. Now the agitatio for a smaller Telengana state within!

Probably you are not aware of the history - Andra was separated from Madras state. It was independent state for years.
Telangana(Hyderabad) was a separate and independant state for years. Political gooses from Andra influenced Nehru(Congress) to merge Andra in to Telangana against the wishes of Telangana people. All we are demanding from last 55 odd years is the de-merger of Telangana state.

Hyderabad state included some of the districts of karnataka and marathwada region of maharashtra.Hope you are not laying claims to demerger of these districts for forming telengana and if you do so you can imagine the reaction of kannad chaluvaligarus and shiva sena of maharashtra.
Pincely states were merged into indian union and new states formed.Reworking them is foolish and dangerous.

the congress should once again join hands with ambanis to kill KCR, like how they killed one of the most powerful YSR. Then the problem of AP will get solved.

I don't agree with your conspiracy theory about YSR accident. However, Congress could have easily stopped KCR's the so called fast but they didn't do deliberately and made a confusing statement on 9th Dec. 2009 regarding telangana.

''What a drama yaaar since many months nothing more . Tealagan state hood is impossible as it can create many more problems than benefits to the people of India or even to AP or even to so called Telangana state. some of the political unemployed and some of the ex and current radical movement people, who does not have any thing to do at this stage due to strict policing is only the people who is just igniting this kind of location based politics, nothing else. in reality Telagana is much more ahead compare to many Districts in the AP in all aspects. Go home Te- langas and have sleep. Telanga is just for political mileage for any party and simply an illusion which will be never reality either in near term or even after another 50 yrs.''

Yes!I do agree with every bit of your observation,It is only the political un-unemployed's are out to en cash the so called T sentiment, which has become more stronger after 9/12/09,otherwise the T people themselves were not interested in separate statehood,Drama after Drama will be enacted till 2014,after that T issue will be resigned to their fate

What happened?
by MM on Oct 01, 2012 01:47 PM  | Hide replies

Since 60 years of indepandance, AP has seen CMs, Ministers, MPs, MLAs from Telangana.. lots of budjet from tax-payers money has also been allocated to AP (which includes T-gana).. whereas has the money gone? Why Telangana region is still backword? what did all these ministers, legeslators do with the money to develop telanagana?.....Even if separate state comes, what is the guarantee that that region will be developed?

Why only Telagana? by the same logic make Kashmir also separate from India?

Just send the milatory rulers like Hitler OR Rajapaksha to AP to cool down the separatists?

That is the only solution left now

Mahesh, AP

No use in blaming each other. We are all of the same blood and skin. Let us try to educate the people, that nothing is going to change their life in a day, only hard work and good education will. If we keep dividing the nation by region, colour, caste, religion, some day we all will perish

Immediate action on criminals needed
by satyananda rao on Oct 01, 2012 12:42 PM  | Hide replies

All this gathering is from interior eight districts of telangana. very, very few people (practically negilgible) from hyderabad participated in this.

Most of the labour that work here come from interior districts and some of the troube makers came three days in advance and stayed in those colonies as they were paid week wages in advance by KCR and his goons. These fellows came to meeting and created the trouble.

Further naxalite followers from villages are the back bone for MPS and MLAs as they depend on them for saving their lives/property from possible attacks from underground naxalites. They pay the hafta to naxalites through these followers .It obvious that the attacks on vehicles/other items are committed by these followers .
some of the employees leaders on the verge of retirement also joined because of hope of some rehabilitation by kodandaram and KCR.

police did wonderful job inspite of so many hurdles in their way.Every action of theirs were scuttled by ministers/MPS/MLAs/KCR and his goons by influencing from delhi and forcing CM. Otherwise any sensible man would have blocked out all the trouble making /hatread spreading news channels who do so due to mafia threat from separatist traitors.police were prevented from discharging their duty
At least now time has come for hard action on these goons with out any delay. kodanda ram should be arrested for worst crimes and damages and sent to andamans along with all separatist goons
