where he got it wrong
by anilkumar on Nov 18, 2012 04:41 AM  | Hide replies

May his soul rest in peace.
Bal thackeray had started off with good intention to provide for his so called son of soils, there is nothing wrong in that,he became a mass leader and undisputed power figure in maharashtra.but once he reached the summit,he got it all wrong. In a sense he has left behind a corrupt, lazy, brainwashed, goondas in the guise of sena supporters. He never objected the corruption in police and bmc, which were filled with marathi manoos. His band of sena workers are now mostly anti social, radical, bunch of alchohalic, unemployed youngsters who spends their days in some shakas ready to attack a poor hardworking north indian. In the twilight of his life he had realised his mistake and there he was not spewing much venom,he had taken a backseat. And now what his legacy passes on to Udhhav and Raj.Marathi mannos would opt for Raj,they never realise that Raj is just building on the emotion of son of soil, while quietly building a real estate empire. The marathi mannos who reads cheap newspapers and make radical judgements are doomed.Every newsreport of balasaheb death was followed by hatred comments.i knew a friend of mine a mumbaikaar, while on a office assignment in north of india, wanted to keep his state origin a secret. The wheel will come a full circle.u hate and others hate you..right now the whole nation hates you,,time to mend marathi manoos,u have no option..get a job,,get a life,,ur leaders are making money,,dont waste ur youth.

Why people liked him?
by HisMajesty on Nov 18, 2012 03:50 AM  | Hide replies

I never lived in Mumbai, and for more than a decade I lived away from India. I sometimes didn't like his speeches because he sometimes had no logic behind his thoughts, especially as he grew older in past 3-4 years. But one thing I must admit is that he was one of the very few true leaders and tigers that India has produced. The man lead the entire city and their hearts for few decades, so he has to have something no matter how many hateful and rude comments people wrote here on this board. He is the ONLY man that ruled Mumbai and millions its hearts since its inception. People love Sachin, Shahrukh and Amitabh, but average Mumbai man loved Thakre more than his own father. North Indians and South Indians in Mumbai may never really like him, but even they would agree that he was the only man Mumbai trusted and relied upon when anti-nationalist forces attacked Mumbai, like 93 riots. I was never Shiv Sainik, I never attended his rallies and I never even voted for him, but today I feel sad, really sad, because we lost a leader.
