Thackeray wore many hats in his lifetime. He came to prominence by being a protectionist for Bombay meaning anti-south, anti-north, anti-everything non-Maharashtrian. Not to be relegated to the fringe he upped the ante and adapted (or added) anti-muslim to his agenda. Towards the end he became selectively anti-whatever based on his mood of the day. Like the Nehru family he turned his political party into a family business. Overall not such a great leader as his followers would like the country to believe. Rest in Peace.
