a refreshing, well researched, and well documented article, a welcome improvement in quality. Whenever the Pak Army is under pressure, it tries to create a diversion. And what better than something to do with India? Some cross border firings, a few more terrorists across the border, and they are right back into business. India should guard against this. And as advised in the column, India should play completely neutral in this, and treat this tussle as it should be; an internal matter of Pakistan.
For the army to lose it hold on Pak politics, the general public, ALL including the Taliban and similar outfits should realise that 'Hate India' cannot be their sole agenda to come up. They should also realise that America will support them only till the time it serves its interest in the region. When trhis realisatio dawns, the army can be asked to stick to its roll of defending the country. Till then the affairs will be like this only. Hope the Pakistan public will concentrate more on economic development.
