What a comparison ????
by Deshbhakth Hindu on Nov 08, 2012 08:36 AM

In USA, elections are won thru debates and performances. In India, elections are won by paying people or giving out doles like reservations, free power, etc.

Dear Sreejit,
What about the millions of Indians who wake everyday wondering why people like you suffering from "I Me Myself" syndrome are born in India.
You find people illiterate and shallow? Have you ever pondered why things are the way they are in India? Ever spent time in a village to understand the problems of people there before calling them illiterate? Agriculture is the life-line of this nation and those in the villages are the ones who feed us. Show some respect. Your message perfectly demonstrates the selfish attitude and apathy of the middle class. That is the bane of this nation.

Foolish Media

If atleast 50% of the interest shown towards US presidential elections were shown towards unbiased news reporting, our country would not have been a banana republic.....!

Each one of us know that till eternity, Pak is going to be favored by the "funds" of USA and India will always remain a "faithful ally" to USA. Whoever is the president, it wont affect us in anyway. So, why such a hue & cry by our media??

PS: If tears & debates would win elections, our politicians can do better than Obama or anybody :)

In India we have been copying tons of things from USA like TV shows, clothings, movies and the list goes on an on. But how about things like peace, driving habits, cleanliness, voting in election - I guess this would be bigger and better list then just blindly following X'mas celebration - twitting - valentine day etc

I see all the channels and web sites tripping over each to cover the US elections how does it matter to us, i dont understand, will the potholes on my locality road reduce because obama has won? We have severe floods in south India, nobody is bothered about it, why are Indians (especially Indian Media)so bothered about what is happening in US.

It matters to us becos the internet which you are using to post this message is in public domain becoz of their efforts and it requires a policy, governance and infrastructure to be able to deliver tht and hence US elections are important to us. Many jobs in Indian right now depend upon wht goes in US, UK and EU and their policies accept it.

Yes, our elections matter.
by reverend spooner on Nov 07, 2012 11:19 PM

The electorate in USA is not allowed a real debate. We might be more chaotic but are not that manipulated by mainstream media. If monteck singh aluhelwahlia and manmohan singh stick around longer, we too will be like them.
