Dear Neelam, the 50% tax on fuel is taken everywhere in world. India is not untouched and we dont produce enough Oil to sell it cheaply anyway. The fuel is subsidised already. I am guessing ur a BJP supporter.

by Vattem Krishnan on Jun 01, 2012 07:58 AM  | Hide replies

Causing inconveneience to normal citizens, making mazdoors to go without wages and makes patients to suffer and people in airports and railway stranded is all the credit that can be claimed by opposition sponsored bandha. If this is the way they think Nation can progress there is nothing that could be done through democracy.Hail the political parties for their negative approach.

Mr. Krishnan, you think on Nation's progress but what about an ordinary man. Will ordinary man progress if they have to face this price hike every month. Will the Nation progress, if the ministers charged with corruption are set free due to lack of evidence. What u say is not Nations progress but the Progress of this Corrupt Congress Government. Can you suggest a solution on this price hike. Your solution will be just bear the price hike and go ahead as the things are going on. And after a while this government is all set to have another price hike.

Success of fools
by Prasad P on Jun 01, 2012 12:03 AM  | Hide replies

Just one party ruling UPA and one finger to point them is not enough. It is on the whole all party and their corrupt politicians and the economical system they build for corporatocracy, r to be pointed with all fingers, wasting time during parliamentary sessions, thinking of how to loot India in one SHOT. We r fools to point just one finger, rest three fingers r pointing us.

They r the real fools to call bandh for petrol price hike, instead they should call the bandh for its root cause "INDIAN RUPEE FALLING DOWN". Y r we choosing such an illiterate politicians, we should call off during election, not voting for illiterates any more, boycott election if election candidate is not well educated, proved economist...

None of the industries r falling from there stocks be it oil companies r what ever, exports r good. If they r in loss, the investors r not fools to wait and watch their money losing. Its all corporatocracy and their media tails making our citizens fools. Wake up India wake up. Don't fall prey for there pot holes. Think for alternatives. Vande Mataram. JAI HIND.

I wonder how so many people are simply critics. When government does something good, they will critic, when they do the opposite, they will do it anyway. I am sorry to say but except for some who really have deep thinking and logic to critic, rest are simply whinners in life. The role of the people is to boost the government when it does right. If governement does not get right feedback both positive and negative with balance view, no wonder we cannot complain that they did not respond well. Can we become nation of doers for a better future vs. critics with no outcome. As for many who blame center, your state government is responsible to make those roads in most cases. Please go and whine at them. Besides petrol prices in India are cheaper even USA, and idiotic people like you are misleading public on this easy issue.

Your views are just as your name. "Chalta hai" is your attitude on the price hike. Just a minor hike of 7.50 per litre. What if there is inflation in the country. People cannot afford to buy food and they are dying. The main motto is fill pockets of this corrupt politicians.

BANDH
by omprakash phadnis on May 31, 2012 08:18 PM  | Hide replies

In TN, governed by JJ, there was practically no response. People have no faith in NDA. It is not better than UPA. Time for some third party to take over. Though I am not communist, I would thank them for controlling petroleum prices in UPA-I when they were with government. I find that UPA minus corruption and minus some allies like DMK, NCP etc. are much better than NDA.

Mr. Omprakash, What you say is right. UPA minus corruption and allies like DMK, NCP are better than NDA. But...... Who will minus corruption from UPA. UPA themselves supports corruption and corrupt ministers like Chavan, Deshmukh, Raja, Kanimoli, Kalmadi and many more in the UPA front. So UPA better than NDA is only on paper and for you to say. Reality is totally different. UPA and its allies are a bunch of Corrupt people looting this country.
