It is quite obvious now that dilatory tactics are being adopted. And reasons are not far to find. This Govt can never bring a Lokpal Bill in its purest form. Even if a Bill is ever passed, it may be so diluted so as to loose all its teeth and may be a mere embellishment.
The BJP should have demanded a poll instead of meekly accepting a vote by voice. They should have walked out if a demand for a poll was rejected. They oppose technicalities but seemingly approve the reference to the standing committee.

yes, that is correct. they objected on technical grounds. so far as the core issue is concerned there is complete unanimity amongst all political parties that they are totally opposed to the jan lokpal bill formulated by anna and his team. i would like to go one step forward and ask do we really need a lokpal at all. aren't the existing laws enough to take care of corruption? what is lacking is the lax implementation of the existing laws. merely passing the lokpal bill will not bring about any improvement. what happens if the lokpal himself turns out to be corrupt. then we'll have a huge Frankenstein in our hands with unfettered powers. that will be catastrophic. let us navigate carefully on this issue.

They will do that only when they see an opportunity of political gain where they see humiliation of opposition members... other than that who cares for problem related to common person...
These politicians are trying to cover themselves one behind another. We have to reject all these politicians and we should have right to reject them.
They cannot make one law for people because they cannot loot any more. Next election boycott SP because they have initiated the action for referring the bill to standing committee. As usual Congress happily shifted to submission date to last week of Winter session (We do not know why not in first week)

they are elected to make law for benefit of themselves not for public because they have invested lot of money to get seat in parliament

there is not much support for the lokpal bill across the country whether one likes it or not. citizens of mumbai, chennai and kolkata are not enthused by it at all. even the latest election in up has clearly showed the intention of the populace of that state by bringing into power a party with overwhelming majority which is totally opposed to the bill. so friends, writing is on the wall. accept the inevitable and continue with your respective duties honestly and truthfully.
