Poor salary and exploitation of teaching and non teaching staffs
by Jomy Jose on May 24, 2013 03:13 PM

India is also home to many universities which have been founded with the sole objective of making easy money. This money business exploited the teaching and non teaching staffs and they get ill treating and less paid jobs and violating the governments rules and regulations . Indian Government has failed to check on these education shops, which are run by big businessmen & politicians. Many private colleges and universities do not fulfill the required criterion by the Government and central bodies (UGC, AICTE, MCI, BCI etc.) and take students for a ride.

Videos from Khan Academy are a great resource but don't overlook the practice exercises. For students trying to master math and science, practice is what drives real learning.

jayalalitha apparently is handing out free lenovo laptops
by Nandakumar Chandran on May 20, 2012 06:29 PM

to 12th standard and college students.

so that seems like a move in the right direction.

the central/state governments should make a serious move towards digital education.

the more smarter a society is, the more successful it will be. building quality (digital) universities is a worthy investment.

What else could one expect from such half-baked writer in such a trash website! One only needs to go through these comments columns to get an idea of the kind of people who read and comment such magazines and their quality (and the ones who publish them!) What a shame!

one can atten in a top university and and make less interface with classmates/faculty,.

he can be in a working environment, and use the educational software given over the broad band, and improve his knowledge and skills and contribute!

Kenneth Galibraith, was not a product ivy league universites, but accepted as a scholor in in economics and taught there!

if one has resources, pl attend such colleges! if not, do not give up the continuous studies wherever u are and continue!

ideas can germinate at water coolers as well as sitting on a toilet seat!

No Indian Open University in Distance Learning
by Ghanshyam Singh on May 17, 2012 02:51 PM

I think private education sectors have not realized the potential of distance learning in higher or tertiary education. It is more profit making then the face-face mode of education and with the growth of ICT it will expand fastly. Private distance learning can only fulfill the demands of education in India.

Education Must
by THYAGARAJU on May 17, 2012 12:17 PM

Which type of education you mean is concern. Is it written, listen, visuals, practice by himself by trespassing the original path, by listening to political slogans, by sitting to road side politicians, by looking to western movies and Indian clumsy scenes, by hating himself by the birth in caste, poor, etc. Which one can eradicate the mind set of person about his education?

Dont get fooled by the name of education !

Dont get fooled by the name of education !
Root of all western philosophy is enslavement and colonization. All thing that is in the guile of education, culture, science, technology, governance etc are tools to loot and do the same. Whoever gets that either they will loot others or exploit own for others in the pursuit of self-service.
Learn India and values of nature which is true education of ours. Dont fall in the traps of western sub-literates who talk of cast-creed-religion for the same purpose what their philosophy teach them.
