a big mass of donkeys forgetting their mortal fear of a dam-burst and going on to vote the party that betrayed them in the Mullaperiyar issue (the UDF) to victory in Piravom.

They forgot their fear of being 'swept away by flash floods' in the event of a 'dam break' when their stuxpid communal leanings were woken up by the combined call of the church, the NSS and the SNDP to vote for the UDF !

Now, the ball has come into the court of the electorate of another constituency - Neyyattinkara.

The UDF is very very sure (or pretends it is very sure) that it can fool the voters of Neyyattinkara in exactly the same manner that it used in Piravom.

The issue now is the killing of the RMP leader - Mr. Chandrasekharan.

As though it was programmed and scripted earlier, within one hour after the killing took place at 1030 pm on 4th May, scores of UDF leaders led by the CM had 'declared' that the killing was the 'work' of the CPM !!

The police had just begun to swing into action and were yet to apprehend the killers or even question witnesses or suspects when this great 'discovery' arrived from the UDF leadership !!

And now the UDF has decided to 'use' this issue as a 'weapon' in the Neyyattinkara poll.

It will be interesting to see whether the voters of this constituency will also prove themselves to be donkeys like those of Piravom !
