India is not a soft state. It is evident from the treatment of tribals of the eastern states who are being harmed in large numbers in the name of fighting naxalism. And who can forget atrocities seekhs in Punjab or the appalling treatment of the weaker sections of its society which includes the lowers castes and minorities. Indian has a long way to go before it can be called a democracy.

Don't blame any politicians may it be Snoia, Rahul, Sharad Pawar or YSR Reddy, Lalu, Sharad & Mulayam Yadav , Mayawati, Karunanidhi, AMMA, A.Raja, Suresh Kalmadi, and many people like these because they are not saint.
These people are politicians not idealist. You cannot expect ethical and moral values from them.
Because people of India have produced these politicians as they deserve these quality and class of leadership.
Don't blame politicians, all those blame these people are forgetting the people of India who promote these kinds of politicians.
People are also not innocent or saint they cannot expect Nobel Character from these people if they themselves are not honest and sincere while electing politicians
This is a malaise of collision politics.Imagine each regional party trying to pander its selfish needs. Result all the hard core criminals & terrorists getting scot free! This rate India as a nation is going to integrate!

Read bhagawat gita folks, only when repeated efforts to have peace with dialogues failed, Lord Krishna advised Arjun to take up arms and fight all enemies, including relatives! But crooked british looters&double agents used dirty trick of non-violence and goebbelian media trciks to brain-wash and fool all hindus forever and to loot trillions and trillions of dollars forever,wihtout getting hurt or killed! right on point dude!! Gandhi is a important page on history of India but he was deliberately over hyped.Especially after independence and his death.this was done Congress which was lead by Nehru.purpose was to use Gandhi as a brand ambassador.due to legacy of gandhi, it ensured inhibition of rise of any new political party and create a congress monopoly.M K Gandhi him slef sensed it and wanted to dissolve congress after independence to ensure fair opportunity to all ideological in a free independent India.It took 30 years for a non congress person to become PM of India (Morarji Desai)of course this helped Nehru establish his dynasty before people can realize it.

Maybe for 2400 years. India was a Buddhist country (except for few weak Hindu states)prior to Islamic conquests and that was India's biggest mistake by Asoka and its' followers (for nearly 1400 yrs) in making Indians too peaceful and loving. Let's give some credit to the Mughals for building some cities and staying in India as oppose to Europeans simply looting and building countries elsewhere.
