BJP doesn't need to worry much about its shrinking base. BJP has a trump card, which they can use anytime and regain its base. They still have a huge number of temples on the list and our country still has an even bigger number of sense1ess people. So, BJP is happy.

BJP lost in UP and Punjab. This time they secured less votes than the previous term. Both the national parties r losing their stronghold despite calling big shots like Joshi and Uma Bharti. People r becoming sensible.

Good analysis!
by Srinivasan Iyer on Mar 31, 2012 09:55 AM

MMS has lost his "heart" in his job after his bypass. He is unable to assert himself and is is forced to be defensive .Besides there are a few aspirants in his cabinet who feel they take shot at the No1 job! The inspired leaks are the result of opposition parties and ever enthusiastic media who are paid to work for them. The BJP has been on self destructive course for possibly the same reasons. The RSS being aware of these schisms in the party top bosses, has tried to impose a President who more often than not has put his foot in his mouth. The party is run by clever "lawyers" without any vision or long term strategy for the country. Ram temple and Hindutva will not take them far in the road to India's development.
The other main problem is the coalition with regional parties who have their own agenda and can pose a problem to any weak Govt at the Centre. None of these regional leaders have any policy on the national agenda , economic or otherwise. Their support will always be on what they can get for their own regional cause. These regional leaders have egos larger than their minds and will prove a headache for any coalition Govt at the centre. An impossible suggestion is that the two large national parties should find a common ground and policies in national interest and work out a workable arrangement. IMPOSSIBLE but there seems no alternative! oppositiuon a
