BJP a sinking ship
by swami pudipeddi on Mar 30, 2012 07:11 PM  | Hide replies

All the parties which are opposed to the policies of the Congress contest elections with their respective symbol and then get the anti congress votes pold to them. After election ether they choose to support a Govt.formed by Congress or merge their arties with congress in manner of quid pro quo. If a person elected on Congress ticket changes loyalty it is betrayal in politics. If some one joins congress party it is encouraged and called as positive thinking. Now it is clear that Congress can never come to power on its own since coalition politics is in vogue. Like wise BJP also can never come to power on its own ad the arties opposed to BJP forming /govt. are indirectly helping Congress. The third front is a wishful thinking saying non-congress, non-BJP but with out the support of either of the parties none can form Govt. Still eying to capture minority votes and votes f Muslims, to improve their strength in the Parliament and remain in power irrespective of the age, health and other factors which hammer progress of the Country they oppose /congress or BJP for the sake of opposing. None bothers about the common man and people despite their feeling about the daily price rise of all most all items required for living are not voting BJP alliance to power. So this is the plus point for Congress party to reign and keep the Nehry-/gandhy family in good humor as long as possible to lead the country despite the ineffciency of the present leaders.

Congress Survived 66 Years because of lousy Opposition
by Wahaj Faridy on Mar 30, 2012 07:05 PM  | Hide replies

It is India's misfortune that its main opposition party was founded by reactionary, debased, c0mmunal idi0ts who had no vision of nation building beyond trying to revive same old devisive religious bigotry that had weakened India leading into thousand years of foreign rule.

Had it not been the case, Congress would have been pushed into oblivion with the help of 18 percent minority long long back.

Dear Wahaj, I beg to disagree. BJP's rise was the outcome of pseudo communal politics of congress. Had congress been really secular as it professes itself to be, BJP would have been wiped out.

In essence, BJP is a necessary evil to counter the evil of congress. Both are distinctly dispensable and need to be replaced by truly secular, nationalist, progressive party. Personally, I don't see any hope given the choices available. Perhaps, benevolent dictatorship could be the answer to get rid of our corrupt, anti national politicians.

Oppotunistic alliances
by aam admi on Mar 30, 2012 06:59 PM  | Hide replies

Present alliances should be policy based , instead of oppotunity based, National Parties must enhance their mass base instead of organising grand shows lead by so called popular leaders of those parties. Care for the eroding base, presently Caste, community and religion is the source of strength for regional parties of Mulayam,Maya,Lalu,Karuna,Jaya,Akali, etc. but weakening the National thread which unites the whole country. As the regionsl parties care for the local and refgional issues keeping aside the National Issues. More regional parties , lessor be the strength of the Nation. Therefore it is the formost duty of the Natioal Parties to increse their massbase , i,e possible only when their leadership will help the local workers of their parties instead enclosing themselves in 5-Star Hotel Culture and addiction to Air Flights and inaugrations.

It may be your wishful thinking.

But don't act blind to the truth that the whole Indian nation is witnessing.

The deterioration and distruction of Indian National Congress Party on various fronts.

Now no body will be able to make the public memory short by 2014. The damages on the national interests caused by UPA2 are SO DEEP.
No amount of sponsored journalism will be able to wipe it out.

People have rejected BJP in 2004 and 2009 general elections.
They'll reject again in 2014.
Unlike in Tamil Nadu, Indian voters are willing to give opportunity to a new political party/alliance.
