It would have been greater acheivement if they had done for their mother country India instead of a foreign cournty. One should understand that USA is a land of opporuntities and india is a land of hope. Any person in USA can come up easily

The award is for overseas achievements. we have plenty of puraskars for domestic performers.

USA and for that matter entire europe are no longer land of opportunities instead it has become a land of lost paradise.people from those countries are moving out to land of hopes including africa and India!

Bharara did his job.
by chanakya maurya on Jun 30, 2012 01:59 PM

And he did it well.

Unless something unexpected comes out from the appeal Bharara will be remembered as an efficient prosecutor.

The crusade against the insider trading must continue.

An Indian gets anointed as India Abroad Person of the year... and his claim to fame? - Sending another Indian Abroad Person of the year to Jail just a week ago!!

The timing of the Award, if not the intent of this "honour" is at best HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE!

Now I wont be surprised if the next such awardee is going to be the Judge who set Union Carbide and Warren Andersen free!!! He would have, if he were of an Indian Origin!!

He has convicted only Indians and Sri Lankans. How this guy can be the Indian of the year? He can be the Enemy of the Indians.

Atleast in developed countries people are chose on merit and not on recomendations. India will be luckiy if people grown up on merits and not on recomendation

Any guilty whether indian or srilankan has to be convicted.when the whole world praises different indians in differnt capacities we make it a habit to criticize every good that happens to indians
