The evilNEXUS of s0niaC0NGRESSkapil: bent upon destroying IIT`s
by LightisTruth on Jun 12, 2012 12:58 AM

like myself, we senior ex-IIT grads agree that,

the new rules ordered by kapil, are designed to:

1. demolish the system of functioning of IIT`s

2. enable the entry of large numbers of low-quality students, based on recommendations/quota,

3. prevent many in the cream of the nation, from becoming part of the IIT system,

a rational reason behind this radical approach of kapilHRDministry seems simple:

1. to give a higher playing field to the international universities which are spending big bucks, in order to enter india, in a big way,

2. new rules are being made by kapilsMINISTRY, to allow large numbers of international universiies to enter india soon,

3. to move the brightest indians away from IIT,

4. and to move the same towards the said international universities

5. a new war is brewing in india:
big bucks are moving from international universities, into the likely hands of unclean persons such as yoursTRULYkapil, in order to demolish the reputation, the quality of study and the quality of students of IIT`s,

it is good that each IIT makes moves to save itself from an untimely `death`, at the hands of kapil.

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY : G K PILLAI
by Kolappa Pillai on Jun 11, 2012 02:46 PM

Education has been used as a commodity to make money. Minister has made his commitment but all these institutes also inundated with huge internal scandals hidden inside rigid system. Teachers must take a lesson to Kabil how the word autonomy become anatomy.

MINISTER MUST PAY MORE ATTENTION TO SCHOOL EDUCATION
by damodaran mohan on Jun 10, 2012 08:39 PM

It is really ironical that a country with one of the lowest literacy, highest school- drop-out rates etc. in the world should have its ministers constantly meddling with higher education rather than concentrate on improving basic education. Most of the govt. schools , especially in rural areas are dysfunctional due to inadequate resources in terms of funds for buildings, class rooms, shortage of teachers etc.Even where teachers are present they do not attend classes or care to teach , chronic absentism....etc. mark plight of our govt. schools. But here is a minister instead of improving the primary education infrastructure is more after meritorious pvt. Schools and hyper-active destroying the IITs which are the only proud symbol of India’s education abroad. Of course the minister meddling in the affairs of IITs is not very surprising but what is surprising is the way many of the IIT faculties and councils have been siding with the minister’s misadventure so far to completely finish the autonomy of the IITs. Primarily IITs are not meant for universal education and its special status and separate identity as the Institute of of ‘Excellence’ have to be maintained at all cost. The minister is seen to be working in the interests of the unscrupulous pvt. coaching institute lobby. In fact they should be closed down permanently in order to avoid elements of “corruption” creeping in-to the IIT admission system.

IIT JEE vs Kapil Sibal
by Pinaki Sur on Jun 10, 2012 08:16 PM

It is now more than a year that Mr. Kapil Sibal has made the Class-X examination an optional one for students pursing CBSE courses. However Class-X examination is still mandatory in ICSE board and educational boards at various state levels. It is surprising to see that the ministry of HRD suddenly decided to overhaul the all India Basis Joint Entrance Examination whereas there are many such steps pending at secondary and higher secondary levels. The IIT JEE is a very well established and successful system functioning in India for nearly 50 years or may be more than that. Honestly speaking IIT JEE does not require any overhauling at the moment. A very large section of educated Indians are opposing the move of implementing CET by abolishing the existing JEE from 2013. It will be an autocratic move taken in a democratic setup if the HRD ministry still go ahead and implement the CET system. The most desired, logical and unbiased steps that the HRD ministry should pursue at this time are:

1.      One Nation – One Educational Board at Class-X level
2.      Whether to make Class-X examination optional or mandatory!
3.      One Nation – One Educational Board at Class-XII level

I appeal to Mr Sibal: Please do not disturb a system which is established and successfully running. The Government has to go a long way in order to counter poverty in India. Swami Vivekananda once said: You need to provide food first to a person who is hungry and that enables him to take-on studies

IIT JEE vs Kapil Sibal
by Pinaki Sur on Jun 10, 2012 08:14 PM

At last Mr Kapil Sibal has successfully created a fracture line among the Directors of IITs. It will be easy for him to rule as it appears now that a difference in opinion is evolving among the IIT Directors. It seems to be pretty doubtful to me because about a fortnight back, all these Directors were sharing a common platform on CET issue. Now Mr. Kapil Sibal did it once again for Congress. Divide and Rule. Is there anyone in the country who can stop this gentleman? The fact is: “Students appearing in 2013 do not have enough time to adopt the new system. Preparation for IIT JEE is a very tiresome and exhaustive process. With a net time of nearly 8 months available as of now, the prevailing volatile situation will affect the mindset of approximately 5 to 6 lacs of students appearing in 2013”. I appeal to our Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh: Please spare these students, postpone the decision for a year. I also appeal to the Directors of IIT Kharagpur/ Madras/Roorkee/Guwahati: Please do not get divided on the issue in joining hands with Directors of IIT Kanpur/Delhi.
