The Indian way of eating food with hands may be wrong,but the western way of going to the toilet is also wrong.The Indian way of defecating is correct.No part of the body touches the toilet seat. Defecating in a european style closet is definitely unhygienic,since the buttocks touch the toilet seat.The west should accept this fact,while criticising Indians. Hence while Indians may accept the western way of eating food without touching it,westerners may accept the Indian style of defecation without touching the toilet seat.

Indians know science much before the Americans learnt about civilization. If somebody wants to know why we eat with our hands, the reason is, when the fingers come in contact with the tongue, it stimulates the production of digestive juice in our stomach. Indian style of defeacating is not only right as Ajai has said above, it also puts more pressure on the intestines and pushes out the waste matter. This means, we are clean not only from outside, but also from inside. Likewise, behind every action, every custom, every tradition we follow, has a scientific reason. The so called civilized citizens will never understand these hidden truths. We Indians are much more civilized than anybody who tries to make fun of our practices.
