Proton, Neutron, Electron, Positron, Boson. It rhymes, thats why I guess.. I don's see the point in you bringing the bulldog connection.
Bose has too many contributions - Bose Einstein statistics, Bose-Einstein Condensate, Boson which are the fundamentals of physics and quantum mechanics. He lived till 1974. Lot of scientists won Nobel prize in Physics by enhancing his works but he himslef never got one.

Bose was honoured by the naming of a class of subatomic articles as bosons.Particles with opposite properties are named after Fermi (fermians).Application of Bose-Einstein statistics,Bose -Einstein condensate, discovery of W and Z bosons are all the work of later scientists for which the Nobel prizes were deservedly awarded. At the time of Bose's death there was a debate in Indian circles if Bose was unjustly denied the Nobel.George Sudarshan led the chorus of victimisation, stating that Einstein did not teach Bose how to apply the B-E statistics for Nobel level problems. Many Indian scientists disagreed with Sudarshan. The consensus was that, after his appointment as National Professor,Bose had not done any wothwhile work, while the others were racing to solve exciting problems.

You also need to undersatnd the research infrastructure that existed in India during the period of Bose and that existed in Europe and America. I am sure if better research infrastrucre were available Bose would have taken the lead of his concept to a new level.

He was denied Nobel prize despite the fact that he was the first to invent radio, (it is untrue, that Marconi was the inventor of radio), because he was involved in Indian independence movement. His radio was being used to communicate with each other for independence. I can understand the West which does not want to recognize or reward a freedom fighters. But the irony and ill fate of India is, the country itself was inherited by traitors. The Dalits to whom gave reservations for 5 generations so far, go and do anti Hind and anti national activities. Muz who broke the nation have all privileges. The British are more patriotic than the fellows who took over the Nation.

Jagdish Chandra Bose (uncle of Satyendra Nath Bose)did some work on radio waves. He could generate millimeter waves and could explode mines by remote radio control. He left radio research and started working in botany. When the 37 year old Bose was conducting plant experiments with a factored error of 1000,the 21 year old Marconi succeeded in sending a trans-atlantic radio siganal.
