UNESCO move is good or bad. On the good side the mining mafia in GOA and Karnataka will watched more closely. The have almost changed the topography of the Goa forests.
In the other hand if the local company/mafia hands in the western ghats are tied down then it will be bumper bonanza for POSCO MNC who swindles in the Eastern Ghats..

Himalayas are quite young,on a geological scale.Hence the mountain range is seismically unstable.

Western ghats were formed after indian tectonic plate passed through a active volcano, after it seperated from gondwana and before crashing into eurasian plate... whole of fertile indian west coast is created due to eosion of western ghats...

The aravali range in Rajasthan is oldest range of mountains.
