Have you all seen the new vodafone ad with a small girl and boy saying 'instant connection'??? Instant connection? my foot. Such a bad advertisement targetting even kids of 10-12 age group. It was so embarrasing to watch it along with my kid who is 12. When media which is so powerful can be so irresponsbile who will manage the confused kids and helpless parents?

Nowhere else in the media is this reported that these people are thankful for the Indian army for their timely help. If it were some high handedness everyone would have pounced to defame the army.

Kudos to the Indian army. Fabulous work.

I dont know why this event should not be celebrated and those army men, not rewarded. Perhaps because it is not so glamorous

Avalanche

One thing that puzzles me. If the soldiers are capable of saving others why can they not save themselves? You would think that the Army would have learned how to deal with adverse winter conditions. If they have not it is indeed worrisome.

u morrron... what is the meaning of an avalanche ? ...search google and learn firstt. some get trapped under 15 feet and some under 40 feet of snow ..some are at the outer fringes of avalanche and some right in its way.

army knows much better than any army in the world...nobody lives in a god forsaken place like siachen...our troops do ..and accidents and calamities at such places are common ...you should appreciate that they accept those risks and serve the nation for less than what an eediot in a plush office in delhi does... i am amazed how ignorant people can be

Bro you do not have to be that harsh on him. Take it easy man. May be he is just ignorant. Fault lies with public in general who are not aware how our troops live in hostile conditions.

It is not fair to criticise or down grade anybody's intelligence or integrity. It is a kind of natural clamity striking any place in the world/universe.
We all are proud of the Indian Armed Forces, in spite of all the politics with in it. They are also of our own society.

Why did they get buried? It is common knowledge even for a person like myself sitting in a place where it does not snow that avalance's can occur following heavy snowfall. Why were precautions not taken?

Its like asking why Army dies in war and why precaution was not taken. No, you cannot feel avalanche sitting in a dumb room. It's massive megatons of Ice sliding on your but6. There is no precaution. We salute the people who have sacrificed there life for civilians. And you ask precaution? get a life man..
