DEVAS BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR FAILURE OF SATELLITE ?
by damodaran mohan on Feb 06, 2012 02:46 PM  | Hide replies

Of course we the people in general are not aware of the full contents of the Pratush Sinha report but some part appearing above makes interesting reading .QUOTE; "...The report said the terms of Antrix-Devas contract "were heavily loaded in favour of Devas". It pointed out that terms of the agreement entail that while in the case of the failure of the satellite, the risk was entirely that of Department of Space, the success of the satellite would commit the latter to substantial expenditure.". UNQOTE
Now, if the agreement terms says that any satellite failure would be at ISRO's risk, what is wrong with the terms and conditi0ns ? How can Devas who are supposed to be primarily 'users' for 'applications' be held responsible for failure of satellite ? And only when the satellite is successful it can be put to any further use or expenditure by Devas the 'user'. Can this be cited as an example by the PS report to say hat the terms are "...heavily loaded in favour of Devas " ? At least this agreement term doesn't appear to be 'heavily loaded ' in favour of Devas as the report above claims.

III Rate scientist

1. Madhavan Nair is found guilty by 2 high power committees and their investigation.
2. Why Nair is using media and public sympathy to get out of the mess?
3. Support for him has dropped drastically after the reports are released.
4. Nair has headed top jobs and should show maturity instead of crying in front of TV channels who are distorting the issue.
5. It's shame on Nair that he kept Space commission. Insat communication commission, Cabinet and even PMO. These are glaring ommisions and commisions. He has also claimed that DEVAS is international company with 15 years experience in space technology, but it is lead by ex-isro people and HQ'd in B'lore
6. Shame on Nair he is indirectly making it political by taking BJp support.

Govt. should further enquire and take serious action on Nair for his behaviour.

SIMPLE QUESTION to S0NIAandANTHONY
by sldlsldksll on Feb 06, 2012 12:37 AM  | Hide replies

in year 2005:
BJP bought FIFTH generation fighters (Sukhoi).

BJP paid $25M per fighter.

then in year 2012:
anthonyS0NIA buy FOURTH generation (Rafale).

india paid: $85M per plane

SO, MORAL OF STORY IS:
----------------------
1. IT TOOK C0NGRESS SEVEN YEARS TO BUY NOW,

2. C0NGRESS BUYS 4th GEN TODAY
(BUT PAK/CHINA/WORLD BUYS ONLY 5TH GEN FIGHTERS)

3. C0NGRESS PAYS 300% MORE MONEY PER FIGHTER
(BJP PAID $25M, C0NGRESS PAYS $85M)

Are you so unhappy that the deal is very transparent wothout any scams? Antony has a clean track record and thats why he is appointed as the Defence Minister. He is not a crorepati, unlike many other ministers, both from Congress and BJP. And, why India didn't go for F22 is because US had put lot of conditions and a non-interrupted supply of spare parts and service and transfer of technology was denied. For Rafale, apart from the first 20 or so jets, the remaining will be built by HAL with the help of Dassault, which will be a big boom for Indian economy. Also, we will get all the technical know how transferred.

@shreck

Are you maintaining his accounts.. After swindling all money.. if you wash your hands doesn't mean your hands are clean...

If he is clean, anthony wouldn't have been in politics for this long.. were these people get money to fight the elections.. how they people are able to buy voters..

Please stop boasting Anthony is clean.. Everyone knows no politician in India is clean.. They just come to politics to make money..

This statement is like giving unnecessary gyan and biased against the scientists "Although SATCOM policy and ICC guidelines allow leasing of satellite capacity on first-come-first-served basis, this did not prevent Antrix-ISRO from following a transparent process of adequately publicising its intent of supporting such services". This shows that even after they following the policy and rules, they are being victimised

ISRO report indicts Nair, says lapses in Antrix-Devas deal
by s lakshmi on Feb 05, 2012 06:52 PM

The Governmnt had acted in a hurry in barring the ISRO scientists, even before the CVC report was published. The various ramifications have to be throughly probed, before the indictment of the scientists is finally confirmed by the PM.

Simple solution for simple rocket science.
by kallol paul on Feb 05, 2012 06:30 PM

The simple solution is to delegate the responsibilities or distribute them among more no of people at the head level.Bring in more transparency, media focus.

Diversify or widen the services provided by ISRO, there is a need for such widening of services and time has come to widen the service area.

A child know how to handle rocket. But due respect should be given to the scientists and scientific community.

90% of corrupt money is with Forward caste.
Anti-corruption is a cheap tool/trick used by Forward caste to promote their hegemony over BC/SC/ST/Minorities in India.
Tell these leeches to take their caste share of land FC(5-15%), BC(50%), SC/ST/Minorities(35-45%) as per "Communal Award" and build their own nation.

Leechs of India..
by Rajesh on Feb 05, 2012 05:22 PM  | Hide replies

This guy was initially arrested and tried for espionage and later exonerated by a court due to lack of evidence. He was arrested for espionage and links with some Maldives women who were staying illegally in India.

Then he was made the chief of ISRO, which was unbelievable to me as a ordinary citizen of this country.

Now ISRO report indicts him, still I am sure may cheat the entire country again.

This guy is telling now the current ISRO Chief is incompetent, then why did he made him a Chief of ISRO, is it because he is also a Mallu and would favour him.

May be if alone Radhakrishnan only had reviewed he might be still brooding around saying he is a most competent scientist of india, even after looting the entire country with cheaper means.

If u dont know the facts, keep shut. The one who was tried on espionage charges wasnt madhavan nair, but one Nambi. And most importantly, it was proved beyond doubt that it was a completely fictitious episode whipped up by the media and the govt. I dont say that Nair isnt in the wrong. But dont give wrong info.
