Yes they (politicians and police) have very strong bonding and hence go hand in hand, most of the criminals around the country are politicians or are supported by politicians.
In India the crime is still minor compared to Europe-USA. European economy is suffering because of large-scale drugswar involving Marrocans, North Africans, Turks, Mexicans and Columbians
1. Strict laws and punishments for proven offenders.
2. Mass media campaigns educating all walks of people about the need to respect women from all walks of life and consequent punishments if they fail to do so.
3. An ombudsman who will act as the central point of contact for all complaints related to violence against women. The same ombudsman should also have the power to stop the abuse of these new powers by women wanting to punish men with whom they have issues!
In India laws are often misused by different groups! Example is the anti-dowry laws which were made to protect women but quite often have been used by women against their in-laws in cases of mistrust or other arguments not related to dowry abuse!
As a society we need a find a healthy balance between respect for women and respecting the rights of men!
the peoples follow the same. Look at the track record of our Govt. Many scams disregards to constitution in the manner FDI issue is resovled that is also rape. amendment in cosntitution to suit their political interests of vote bank is rape so y not peoples will follow the same.
I hate this BJP party very much since they have more number of crooks and they fool people in the name of Lord Ram or any other thing which is politically available. For example in this case, the situation is same in BJP ruled states also. In Gujarat where a 3 year old girl was raped and killed. Some time back in Madhya Pradesh, Betul District a tribal girl was raped and her mother murdered for filing a police complaint. So how come it is only the problem of Delhi it is problem of India.BJP simply wants to politicise every issue, it does wants to resolve the issue. It wants Indian people to suffer shame on BJP and its useless leaders.

All political parties must first clean their respective houses by discarding all rogue elements within them and then lecture others. If a politician is not to be held innocent till proven guilty, same logic has to apply everywhere. You can not have different norms for different crimes. Administration ought to give utmost importance in preventive measures rather than punisment which is only the last step. If your forward and back lines fail, the goalkeeper can not hold the fort.
Neither the criminals nor the politicians fear the law and police. It is only the innocent 'mango people' and 'cattle class' who want to maintain safe distance from the cops.
Sushma Swaraj & BJP or any political party for that matter will strongly condemn for public consumption, but always dither when time for their action comes. That is why, no party is prepared to take action against their MLAs/MPs against whom rape & assault charges against women are there. How can they provide severe punishment to other criminals when their own stables are filled with such elements? They only see winnability of the candidates, not their conducts & characters.
