WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS
by madanmohan siddhanthi on Jan 01, 2013 05:48 AM

I go for morning walks - there are many stray thanks to all sorts of bodies that protect them - they bark and bark at times rush at people including me - but I never felt I need to ask apology from the dogs.

Then what about 15 to 30 years old wearing skirt Madam??
by Kittu on Jan 01, 2013 02:22 AM  | Hide replies

"I want to tell the MLA that a three-year-old girl and an 80-year-old woman are not provoking anyone by wearing a skirt" She said.

Madam, No body has problem wearing skirt 3 year old or 80 year old. The problem comes only when a teenager or a young lady wears a skirt. Don't follow the western culture blindly. Be safe than sorry.

Kittanna, don't you think democracy should be "safe rather than sorry" for women too? Is democracy safe for men only? It is this shameful attitude that got us into this mess today. We don't find anything wrong in the things we do, even when it is pointed out because that is the way it has been always done. It is OK for a boy to do whatever he wants but not OK for a girl to have even basic freedom? If this is true, then whose fault is it? The fault of men or fault of women? If you agree with the Indian "whatever happens, finally it is the women who suffer" response, then whose fault is it ? Shame on our Indian attitude that does not find anything wrong in wrong things such as casteism and inequality of sexes. How do you expect India to come up if 50% of its population (meaning women) always have to be below men socially and live in fear constantly. Every day when a girl goes by a bus in any Indian city, she lives in fear of somebody trying to touch her. Now, even simple basic freedom like wearing a skirt is an issue? These girls are not wearing cheerleader skirts, they are wearing school uniforms.

Totally confused thinking. What has democracy got to do with using common sense when it comes to personal safety? Dont you teach your children to look both ways before crossing the road, even at a green signal, and not just depend on drivers obeying the laws? Is that also a problem with Democracy/casteism/religion?
