Change your mentality
by Arpita Markande on Jan 05, 2013 06:10 PM

Men have to be taught that just because a girl chooses to dress in a particular way DOES NOT mean that she can be sexually assaulted. Teach men to respect women and treat them as equal. Honestly, women are not possessions or objects of pleasure that will serve you as servants and you treat them as per your whims and fancies.

skewed reasoning ????
by Epsit Mandal on Jan 03, 2013 08:21 PM

I am wondering whats the thinking behind the logic of asking whether women abuse or gang-rape men?? As a journalist I would have hoped that the journalist of this particular article would do some research ... actually there are quite a few reports of men getting raped by women ... in india and outside india ... there were reports of men raped so much that they were terrified to leave their home (not in India ... I forget where it was though) ... and men dying because of the rape (this was in India ) ... but does it justify what happened / keeps on happening even now to women everywhere ... i certainly do not think so ... i agree that such disgusting treatment of humans is appalling and no amount of reasoning justifies such actions ... fear of persecution works maybe not with the worst lot of animals out there but it will definitely be a deterrence to quite a few ... its a war with those animals in our society who prey on others ...

Rape

Rape is a heinous crime. Why is even there even a discussion about it?. It should be condemned and dealt with severely. It should be punishable by death after the perpetrators are severely flogged.

gender should not be in discussion when one is minor
by MuthuKumar Dhanasekar on Jan 01, 2013 11:19 AM  | Hide replies

I accept all the bad things happening to woman these days.My opinion is that Gender should not be a question when the victim is minor. I know a lot of young boys who are sexually harassed and who are helpless. There should be very strict laws when one does something to a minor irrespective of gender. When one is not a minor, then i truly accept that the girls are the victims always and the criminals should be punished severely.

In this case one culprit is supposed to be a minor, who is being blamed for that brutal act. should he be spared?

First human equality then gender...
by Varsha on Jan 01, 2013 10:47 AM  | Hide replies

Why the country is silent to worst racism on earth in the name of casteism ?
Will the country protest for a dalit raped and murdered ?
Will all Indians treat each other as equal humans before asking for gender equality ?

BTW coming to rape laws, already good laws are there, women centric laws are misused by women themselves big example is Dowry act. More men have committed suicide tham women due to this act.
50 million muslim women have no issues with Burkha (simple protection), why does upper caste upper class hindus are having issues wearing decent dress ? Even SOnia had called for girls to be simplistic at NIFT recent.

Can spineless and shameless Indians debate equality of human before gender ?
