No it is not!
I had seen it; but there is nothing crass or crude as one might imagine.
At one point of the concert Panditji loses touch with his surroundings and that was the moment the entire audience unconsciously become one with the musician who himself becomes one with gawd or something like. It is divine.
May be women are more sensitive and the first to react; it was then I understood why there are so many gopikas with krishna; nothing crass or crude. religion and age has nothing to with it.
I did experience those few moments of divinity when Pandit Ravishankar, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma played and when Pandit Birju Maharaj danced at the age of 70 and Yamini Krishamurthy danced in her mid like.
They dont perform for the audience; it is just like they are doing worshipping ritual and you just join them

D. goelPkl, afternoon 4pm, wednesday, December 12, 2012. In thedeath oflate pt. Ravishankar wedee durtain drop of thislegend'sengagement with a metal string. He created divine music , that threw hundred in almost in magical swoon of the great Raags that he embodied in his plucking of the strings divinity 's Voice. Tributes will hardly make it any dent in his poise and disolution into Infinitude. D. Goel

my thought exactly. rediff has staff problem. 90pct of rediff staff is unfortunately just way too busy trying to run narendra modi down in the paid service of gandhis.
