Policemen died defending morons inside the parliament, and congress fed afzal guru with biryani for 10 years....... defence forces gave life to fighting pakis and congress wants to play cricket with them completely ignoring the sacrifices of these people..... day in and out defence forces are subjected to humilating working conditions and situations and you expect people to come and work for such an organisation.

People used to take pride if they got selected to join defence forces, under able leadership of congress situation has come to such a state that huge positions are lying vacant and no one wants to join defence any more.

if each officer in armed forces have an extra kiId i,e, 1.3 million army airforce navy... imagine how many boys one would have.

There is great likelihood that amoong those lakkhs of kIids at least20,000-30,000 kIids would have perfect temperament for armed services as theirfAathers and would be interested to fill in the shoes of their,d,ads....

afterall all these trades were once transferred from,f,ather to,s,on.

army also like politics.... only those who hav military background in family will be taken in. but now as the opportunities are plenty outside... even the military background people are backing out! incentives one problem.. respect and recognition of sacrifices is the other problem. who will die for the country when when these two are not there and one can live royal life out side in IT, MBA, AMIE ETC.

well a true soldier is one who doesn't fight for money or medals...such forces are called mecenaries, if you know the difference.

True soldier is one who fights for honour. Lives by principle.

Eventhough you find lesser number of people who think on those lines, armed forces still have many people who care for values more than money.

What I feel is a shake up of whole promotion system and selection process. Modern armies are mostly machine run, so we can have traditional selection procedures for infantry and fighting arms and another procedure for support arms.

maybe army selection process needs to be revised... afterall selection into military services had transformed a great deal since many centuries. So why stick to one procedure ? and believe it to be the best bet ?

Why aren't army personnel have more children ? ...since kids land up in same profession as fathers there is high likelihood of filling up these positions from military pool itself. apart from that, although the selection process is scientific, armed forces still look for that martial brackground. Hence govt. should give sops to armed forces personnel to have more children.
