The movie is best I have seen about Rediff.
by kallol paul on Jan 19, 2013 09:04 PM  | Hide replies

It rightly focuses the true nature of India. However the title is not appropriate...its true people prefer to work at nights even say construction workers or farmers or carpenters work late at night or start in dark in early mornings.

Least of the defunct mindless impractical govt policies and laws better it is?

but then people are living in hopeless of hopeless environment in their own cocoon of space they created for themselves. Its wrong to say they don have complaints.

They are part of solution why they will waste energy in complaining when the system basically functions to sap them up.

Ex.professor of Economics, intellectual , lacking management skills, will power to assert, political auumanship and stamina due to his old age. More acting like a puppet.
So he failed, not only failed but caused mess in the country. We need a PM who is politically powerful, Moralist ,visionary and assertive in his approach.

Guru must be silent now
by Dipak Bose on Dec 08, 2012 06:06 AM  | Hide replies

Guru Das should be ashamed after seeing the complete devastation of the Anglo-American economies with starving homeless unemployed people everywhere.
Small government is the ideal of that type of economics.
Those who fought for the freedom of India ( revolutionaries, SC Bose, soldiers of the Azad Hind Fauz) were all socialist.
Those who used to polish the boots of the British ( Gokhle, Gandhi, Pant, Rajendra Prasad) and financed by Birla-Bajaj-Goenka used to support capitalism.

India could be a prosperous country because because from the beginning these people distorted Indian Five Years Plan, expelled the architect of that plan ( PC Mahalanobis) with 4 years, turned that a bribe making machine of license-permit Raj.

Today we have a Prime Minister who behaves like an agent of these Anglo-Americans. He does not care about the people.

If we could have a real socialist planning, India will be just as great as USSR, China, Japan, Korea, Germany, all of them were developed using planning.
Guru Das still follows the outdated Anglo-American system and he is wrong on all counts.

How does it matters@shilpy? Lets talk about India. Don't get personal here. You can always put forward your views just not criticize.

only if following happens............
by brijesh on Dec 06, 2012 09:55 PM  | Hide replies

Only if following happens, India will every become a developed nation.

1). Population control - time is gone to make people understand this issue...do wha China did. Put penalty / punishment for having more than 2 kids. ( I know it sounds harsh but than nothing else has worked either ).

2). Remove Curroption - Life sentence, death penalty to people involved in bribesand curroption.

3). Education - emphasis on compulsary education until 10th standard at least.

If above can be done, we can dream of becoming a developed country........otherwise even after 100 years, we will be what we are today and were 100 years back.....A 3RD WORLD COUNTRY.

When half the people get the idea that the other half are going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation.

We will achieve greatness only after achieving atleast 95 % literacy and 90% University educated adult. This is first and foremost.

Till then FreebiesAnd Divisive politics will continue and criminals and KickBack agents will continue to govern the country.

What kind of democracy is this where people have no direct right to vote and elect the President and the Prime Minister ? How can these positions be decided by a family or aSangh ?

Sir WinstonChurchil was right when he said about India "Power will go to the hands of rascals, rogues and freebooters. All Indian leaders will be of low calibre and men of straw. They will have sweet tongues and silly hearts. They will fight among themselves for power and India will be lost in political squabbles."

So,our motto should be education for all. Please try to educate people around you, only then the future of the nation will improve.

It is the people of India who should be blamed and not the politicians. Who has elected these politicians? It is the people. In the beginning of our democracy the people of india were mostly uneducated and hence they simply worshipped the leaders. This happened because the british and before them the kings cultivated a culture of 'worship the boss'. As the level of education improved things should have turned towards better but did that happen ? Industrialization is not the solution to any problem. Population control, raising the education level of the entire population and balancing everything like resource utilization is the only way. Our PM says that more FDI is needed now because the condition is the same as in 1991, then what we did between 1991 and 2012 ? If the first flow of FDI did not help us even a bit, that is what the PM says, then how the second flow of FDI will help? What is the guarantee? Problem lies with us and FDI is not the solution.
