Norway-Indian parents sent to jail
by subhash phadkar on Dec 05, 2012 03:53 PM

The change in the portfolio of the EAM has made India has taken a proper stand as per the law of that country. The previous Minister had taken a very different stand in a private case and made India a laughing stock Internationally.Indian should know the laws of the land where they go otherwise you would land in the prison. They value family system a lot.In India no body bothers because it is a corrupt country. No case is registered if you have money.

Government should not involve in this case...

Shame on parents to burn and beat their child.

They are trying to cover their fault by saying their son peed in the pant and for that reason they did all this.

They deserve punishment.

NRI's should dress properly, behave properly, obey foreign country culture and rules.

Poor kids and cruel parents.

Beating a kid with belt and burning his skin with cigar is gross. This is child abuse. The kid also suffers from asthma. Hope the 2 rot in jail. Andhra IT folks are a funny lot. They have fake resumes, certificates and references. If there were a process by foreign consulates to stringently check all the docs, at least 70% of Andhra IT NRIs would be just RIs.

Most of the IT BT people coming to Western Country's do not know the Law, do not know how to behave in public, no civic or ethic. All of you before jumping in the Flight learn the Law of the country you visit, behave properly in public, dress properly and take a bath!

Don't know

We don't really know what happened. Did they really beat the child with belt and was the burn marks real? Parents should be educated properly before leaving the country. The consulting companies should do a better job in preparing them for foreign assignments. On the other hand, Norway should have sentenced the parents for counseling and community work involving children.

I dont know why people are jumping the gun, same thing we did last time on that Bong couple, even the govt jumped the gun, and than we came to know how messed up these bongu family was.

If you go to developed world people should refrain from using third word behavior.
Glad that the couple is being punished for their crime against kids.

The couple should know better
by Tom Dick on Dec 04, 2012 07:48 PM

Any one who is proceeding abroad should know and respect rules and laws of that land. It is unfair to ask GOI to intervene in all cases. However, on the part of Norway, they could have deported the couple and report them as persona nongrata ....to avoid all problems.

SOME ONE MUST BE RESPONSIBLE. WHAT DID THEY WANT PARENTS TO DO BY REPORTING. CHILD ONLY TOLD THAT PARENTS TOLD HIM THAT HE WILL HAVE TO GO BACK TO INDIA IF SCHOOL REPORTS AGAIN. I THINK IT IS PREPOSTEROUS TO CLAIM THAT CHILD WAS ABUSED. SCHOOL IS HIDING BEHIND TRUMPED UP CHARGES. SALMAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING.

It's hard to believe that the parents would torture a seven year baby for such a thing.how the trial has happened at such a lightning speed?there is definitely something fishy.
