The political parties and beurocrats are deep embedded in corruption for so many years. The way i see it the Lokpal will just cut a few branches and will leave the corruption tree intact. However something is better than nothing. Political parties including congress BJP and alternatives will be reluctant to pass the bill as the price they may have to pay may be heavy. The best thing that has come out of anna movement is possibly a general awareness and aversion to corruption among the general public. Politicians are to shuffled constantly.
