People are not born heroes, nor are they created. They emerge out of their stead- fastness to duty and commitment to truth and honesty. What we now have to develop is our commitment to humaneness to the next man, for which we need to develop the spirit of feeling our moral responsibility. We are more particular ofour rights than of our responsibilities. In other words everyone should be part of Human responsibilities forum before one runs after Human Rights commission. This becomes inevitable since we are more and more tuned to gross selfishness without having an iota of selflesness. Everyone parks his vehicle without any reflection of the inconvenience that is caused to the other man by his parked vehicle. This is one sample example. But there are umpteen number of other illustrations.

But do not forget that 99% of indians and hindus have been brian-washed and made morrons&ennuchs forever already! This man Bana singgh belongs to the One percent un-brian-washed folks!?The scientists&technicians&others deserve congratulations and NOT the minister or crooked rulers! Why we have such weapons and spend trillions of dollars on when we have a non-violent british agent MK Gandhi as our great leader??? In fact MK Gandhi&nehru have wrecked our nation forever&made us a banna republic of 100 crore morronic&ennuch&cowrad hindus too.Now let us have an ICBM ,nulcear-capable inter-continental ballistic missile, capable of reaching americas too!It is crooked westerners who are our real enemies and NOT china, Let us mkae friendship treaty and economic and monteray block like european union with China,Asean nations except talibanic malaysia, with Brazil&South africa&Russia and TAX all western produtcts 100 or 200% without delay, in another 10 years we can be a super power like China! But we need to kick out crooked nehru dynasty from power without any delay for the above dream to be realised too!

hindus are spineless and lack courage. They always talk only about caste and traditional system for others to follow and not themselves. Hypocrites. They are meant to be slaves/boot lickers for ever. Always satisfied with only jobs and does not like to take risk even to save their family.
Eyes without vision and mind without power cant detect the people with excellence....we dont need heroes the way the west conceptualise them! Otherwise people with excellence are born day in and day out.....one needs excellence to realise them too.
Yesterday only a person in LIC head office at Kolkata retired after 37years of service who in his entire service life took just 30days leave...(including 07days for his own marriage and 07days during his only daughters marriage). We should recognize and honour such feat too. Just a small but GREAT achievement indeed.

Working 37 years with just 30 leaves is not a achievement. Job is one resonsibility in life and there are many other resonsibilities one shud do. if he has not took any leaves which means he has not fulfilled his other responsibilities.
With the real insights of nation building, high level of sacrifice and enormous courage to fight with a Corrupt political system, Arvind Kejriwal is the real Hero. But as a nation we are still in Collective emotional consciousness of Feudalism and hence we worship only either weapon warriors or family kingdoms.
People like Kejriwal who can be instrumental in taking India to new heights of development and freedom is not being understood by majority.

You are absolutely right. We need the heroes that have the wisdom where and how to utilize the exemplary devotion-to-duty and patriotism of great citizens like PVC Bana Singh. Scaling 1500 ft of vertical ice at 21000 ft altitude doesn't prove the heroism of one individual. It proves the collective stupidity of our leaders to put people to that test and continue doing it day after day everyday for 25 years.
For a decade after his retirement, apart from his pension from the Indian Army, Bana Singh would receive Rs 160 as pension from the Jammu and Kashmir government. A sorry comment on that state's regard for the only Param Vir Chakra from Jammu and Kashmir. Bana Singh reportedly stayed away from one Republic Day parade to register his protest.
Shame on Babus who decided Rs. 160/- as monthly pension for a Param Vir Chakra. Babus tea allowance per month may be more than this.

When Manmohan sigh and Montek Aluwalias decided that RS 28 is good enough to lead a decesnt life in Indian urban areas, this is no suprise.
