Salute the nationalist movement, not the Left
by Rivka Mishra on Apr 10, 2012 10:40 AM

The nationalist movement was distinct from the Left. In Bengal the "intellectual" Leftists somehow managed to give Communism at least part credit for India's independence. Communism was a failure of gigantic proportions, and if Communism and the October "revolution" need to be mentioned in history books, it should also be mentioned that these were recipes for genocide and misery - failed ideas.

I shall read, no problem !

But you admit that there are no answers to the questions I raised ??

If the report does not give these details, then it is not much of report given that every serious study conducted in genetics have these details well tabulated, published and peer reviewed, is it not ??

@piri - All Indians belong to the same genes
by Anti Skeptic on Apr 09, 2012 09:11 PM  | Hide replies

Since you are in no mood to go through the article, lemme paste a few snippets here on the questions and answers on the study made:

"Question: The study of Indian ancestry that you did along with the former CCMB director Lalji Singh and two US researchers was published in Nature in September 2009. It is said to have rewritten the history of Indian population...

Answer: It established through genomic analyses that people in north India were no different from those in the south and that all shared the same genetic lineage . It also established that people of north and south were part of the same culture. We analyzed over 500,000 genetic markers across diverse groups, including the traditional "upper" /" lower" castes and tribal groups and proved that there was no difference between tribal populations and castes, and it was impossible to make a distinction between them."

"Question: Is the study being taken forward now? What are the findings that will come out in 2012?

Answer: We are working at breakneck speed. The study done so far was the background work and we will be going public with findings in 2012 that will be futuristic with a more immediate, practical connect with the healthcare sector and people in general. We are at a stage where we can discuss the basis of getting a particular disease. It is the genetic difference that makes one vulnerable or resistant to a disease such as malaria or even HIV. The finding may not yield a cure but prevention such as a pre-natal diagnostic test would be able to determine a child's vulnerability to certain diseases. Genome-based medicine is a possibility in the future. It would also help doctors decide if certain drugs should be used on individuals."

Want some more CUT, COPY, PASTE or would you care to go through it yourself?

Once again, please give the details of

1. Agency which conducted this 'test'
2. Populations segments from which the samples were drawn
3. Type of tests conducted on these samples
4. Sample sizes
5. Conclusions (exact wordings)
6. Peer review about this 'test'

This was the question that I started with, was it not ?

You have still not given any answers though you claim you have read the report !

If you have read the report in full detail, then what is your problem in providing answers instead of trying to escape by saying that I should read the report myself to get them ??

Is it not an admission that either you have not the report in full or you do not remember these details or the report itself does not give them ??

Dont corrupt the children's minds with too much of history. Let history be dealt with as a specialization subject in the graduation and post-graduation in Arts.

History till 12th standard should be barest of bare minimum because historians areFuckedUp and biased!!

Instead concentrate more on languages, science, mathematics and extra-curriculars like sports, dance and music during the school-education.

If you are so nervous about the motives of historians, then are you suggesting that every historian has a motive that is against what would please you ??

Are you suggesting that all historians have the same idealogical leanings ??

By suggesting that all history books are biased, are you saying that there are some books that omit and commit what others dont ??

So, are you in effect, saying that there are historians on both sides (or all sides) of the idealogical divide (divides) ??
