If Mr. Reddy was a member of the Evaluation Committee, he should have raised his objections then and there. Why make an issue out of it now? Is he seeking some publicity now with his holier than thou attitude?

we already have sukhoi as su30mki and 5th gen fighter pakfa coming in few years. but both are heavy. we need mix of heavy n medium fighters.hence mmrca.

OM Shanti manufacturing a fighter is not like making a bicycle. it requires years of development experience and robust industrial base to absorb and manufacture latest technology which we unfortunately dont have. ofcourse money is essential. India was building country when others were establishing military complex. so we are reaching there.
and we are co developers with russia for 5th gen. that way we can learn latest technologies

American do checks. Life if you buy some thing they come to your home and check.If they not happy they wont give spares, hapening in Pakistan.
Typhoon- transfer of technology and if any country making it takes a back foot still no option.
Check Rafale. U r not familiar with it. Its one of the best.
This is UK at its worst. just because India rejected eurofighter typhoon, britain will sink to lowest to skuttle deal with france. Rafale won the competition fair n square on more than 600 technical parameters set by AIr Force and was much cheaper than typhoon.All 6 competitors have accepted the results based on technical evaluation.even america though they made some noises initially.
i think briturds still think they are our lords.
So this MP knows more about technicalities of a fighter plane than air force?? how much did britain pay him to ask these questions? one thing, we should totally banish any defense deals with UK after this.

I think No One wants India to be strong in its defence , This is a classic Example of last Minute confusion to delay the process and weaken a depleted IAF. So far the French have not leat us down with the Mirage 2000 which has better Track Record in India

Looks like the US and the other countries who lost out on the deal are trying a back door entry. US and its allies never supported Indian defense requirments after Pokhran II. France supported India and ensured that the spares for the Mirage 2000 were made available on demand.
