War against China and Pakistan will be air-war and nuclear-war. India needs nuclear submarines, more and more, as these are undetectables in the sea. Just one from Russia is not enough. India needs multi-target nuclear missiles.
This article is very selectively trying to scrutinize the letter Gen. Singh wrote to PM. Apart from lack of ammo for tank, he also mentioned about the Guns which arm forces are using. last time Army procured Guns was in late 1980s since then there is no procurement. When police force in US has modern weapon the Arm forces still depend on Ak47 which is an outdated weapon given the present situation. I think the letter contains more critical points rather than just about tanks.
Author does not seem to know technical details about army. His questions like how many tanks we need are so naive. It feels like some layman is writing an article. He should do some groundwork before posing his questions.

brooking institute is American government funded "Setting National Priorities[Wikipedia on brooking institute]it wants the keep the pot boiling in conflict zones ;may be;that is why the heading-may be good for American priorities ,to keep America ahead of the pack for ever .and these are paid writers of that institute to keep India down
Article is questionable since it does not mention India's last war in Kargil. Tanks were certainly used in that war. Also, it took place after both India and Pak had gone publicly nuclear.
Last time the rift happened between army and government is exactly when China invaded India, putting a huge psychological strain on us till today. That is considered as a major reason for low morale from army to fight back then.
Although China might not invade us now, we are cultivating enough enemies, hope this time it wont work for them.
