Two sides of the story
by Ujwala Kulkarni on Sep 11, 2011 06:41 PM

There invariably are two sides to a story. Fair journalism requires that both the sides be brought out without any bias. Although coverage in the media, during the last decade, has been replete with pictures of 9/11. Devastation caused - in Iraq by US Tomahawks, the NASTY 14" shells, smart bombs, likewise the damage caused by Hellfire missiles of the dreaded US drones in Waziristan - has seldom received the coverage it deserves. Should one assume that this didn't cause any bloodshed? Or that non-US lives are cheap? And what about grisly incidents like Iranair flight 655? What about the Pak bombing of a hospital in Punjab in '65 with free US bombs. Are these too distant memories. US doesn't seem to realize that violence leads to more violence. More than terror, against which the US seems to have insulated itself well, the economic and military rise of China should be a priority for them. Alarm bells should ring now for US may soon have to surrender Taiwan to China notwithstanding the wishes of the Taiwanese people - the way UK ceded Hongkong and Portugal Macau without a whimper.

9/11 is an example of how unjustly acts of violence could be committed by people based on motivation of promises of imaginary 72 in heaven.

The evil doctrine of Jihad needs to be crushed by the world, unitedly. There is no room in the world for religious bigotry and fanaticism as practised by arab and islamic countries.
