By banning the govt gives free publicity to the film. Left alone perhaps the movie may not have created quite a stir. By imposing a state ban the govt has indirectly promoted the film. Good for the director and producer....

It's a kind of negative publicity....even if the government lifts the ban now, theatre owners in TN are not willing to release this movie...poor mallu Roy is crying now.
