Aus should not sell
by Vivek Dev on Nov 29, 2011 07:13 PM

Australia should not sell its uranium to India, until India opens up to scrutiny. Principle of agreement should not be breached to favour India.

Well they can keep their uranium

Aussies can happily keep their uranium. Many other countries are more than happy to supply it to India before India develops thorium reactors. It's a short term business opportunity that India is providing the world. Lucky people will take it.

I will definitely wait for the lucky people to turn up in hoardes...

BTW, its good to see that you are reacting so strongly to a University professor as if he speaks for the entire Australia... :)

thorium is the answer

My professional dealings over the last three decades have convincingly shown that Ozzies are avowed anti-India and the recent racial attacks on Indians proves this.
In their world view, growing out of the Cold War era, Oz fits in with Japan-China-US axis in the South Pacific while keeping India out.
So they sell Uranium to China knowing very well that it would end up in Pak, NKorea etc.
Instead of developing Uranium-based reactors, India should concentrate on fast breed reactors based on thorium which is plentiful in India.

Aum Company:

Fair enough. So India's repeated support of Palestine too convincingly shows you that we are racists?

Ignore those ex-convicts

It is time for India to completely ignore Australia. India has quite enough uranium in its own existing and prospective mines to see the nation thru' the 1st and 2nd stage of the 3 stage civil nuke programme conceived by the visionary Homi Bhabha. All that we need to do is to diligently and sincerely follow that road map. We can build our own 500 MW natural uranium and a few enriched uranium reactors with 100% indigenous design and technology. Once the stage 2 is completed as per plan and the requisite natural (spent) uranium small fraction of spent enriched uranium fuel reprocessing capacity and infrastructure is completed and the 1st and 2nd 500 MW FBRs in operation, we will have generated sufficient plutonium to put it in the thorium converters to convert thorium to extremely low half-life (compared to enriched U-235)uranium isotope, which once used in the nuke reactors of 3rd stage for generating power, will become inert and completely non-radioactive in just under 15 years! So no need for elaborate storage facility required in the case of spent enriched U-235 fuel rods, which has a half life of over 15000 years, which is the technology offered by the whitemen (read US, France, Russia, etc.).This is the brilliant plan of Bhabha the great patriot scientist of India. But traitor MMS is playing dirty with the nation and wants to hobnob with unethical ex-convicts from down under and subvert the nation.

by Rajesh Vyas on Nov 29, 2011 01:03 PM

It is time India stopped licking boots of Australiaq to get the Uranium. The MEA is shameless and keeps on wooing this not so friendly country. They should be ignored by a power like India
