Why do we always say that
by hulahoo on Dec 01, 2011 11:42 PM

Whenever there is an issue of discrimination against an Indian, somebody pops out and says Indian's do it all the time to other indians. What are we trying to say over here, is it that we deserve to be discriminated. There is certain amount of discrimination all over the world. Point is it is bad. Unfortunately in India, it is the government which encourages discrimination. All reservations and cast based politics, dictating language in which a sign should be written, renaming cities to suit their political agenda and so on is nothing but trying to make you think that you are not an Indian but a person from his own state or caste. In doing so they successfully alienate the majority while trying to appease the minority. I feel bad for the boy. 11 years is highly impressionable age. And the result could be he will grow up to be a person who does not trust another person because he looks or behaves differently.

It reflects the tiny mind of these poeple who discriminate

The sad thing is not that world discriminates again Indians, but rather that Indian discrimiate against Indians. Uniquely in India, Indian discriminate based on caste, and increasingly class status, skin colour and language. It gets worse, caste system is stillentrenched, and young people are get murdered for defying it. You have in 21st century gut wrenchingly grotesque representatives defending these panachayats in backwater of states like Haryana being given platform to justify these practices in the name of their some superior origin.
