TV Debates
by kumar kn on Nov 10, 2011 04:13 PM  | Hide replies

Compared to the debates we see on BBC or CNN, our TV debates are nothing but shouting matches.Nobody is willing to listen to the other but somehow shout and scream. The arguments put forward are not logical but on political lines.

The panelists have set views and most of them psuedosecular. The anchors do not allow others to talk but interupt and interject in between and the whole flow is broken. One cannot disagree with the anchor or he/she will cut you off.The whole debates are reduced to a farce. Some guys like Mani Shankar Iyer and Manish Tiwari try to use language which most of the people will not understand. We don't have a fair and balanced debates which in the end should have enlightened you.You end up being more confused.

In 2001, the Tehelka Magazine, put out video about then BJP President Bangaru Laxman accepting Rs. one lakh from fictitious firm for fictitious purpose. The Central Government intended Inquiry by sitting Supreme Court Judge. The Supreme Court declined to spare any sitting Judge. The Media screamed that the Supreme Court "REJECTED" Government request. The Correspondence between Constitutional functionaries is always couched in polite and temperate words. But the "Self Regulated Media" distorts, misleads and misguides public, and hence does not want supervision. No wonder, the traitors of India in the Print and visual media lived up to their promise to then Pak President Pervez Mushraff, that the Media would ensure defeat of NDA in 2004. The media is colonial in outlook that they can do no wrong. Justice Katju is right. If media is really right, then it should welcome supervision from Press Council like broad based bodies.

How do the TV anchors know more than our PM or MPs or Judges that they comment and give solutions to all of India's huge problems and crisises

politicians from all parties should avoid sitting daily in news channel studio for useless & endless so called healthy discussions. they are concern with only their daily appearnace & evaluation who is able to shout more without listening other panel members.
Further news channels are also fooling viewers. same politician is appearing in 2 or more channels at same time in debating same or different subject under NEWSCHANNEL LIVE / BREAKING NEWS / EXCLUSIVE REPORT.

MEDIA IS SELF REGULATED ?????
by chandrashekar nayak on Nov 10, 2011 02:49 PM  | Hide replies

Harsimran Kalra says Indian Media is self-regulated!!!!!! Can we forget the Great Service rendered by Indian Media to 26/11 perpetrators form Pakistan by setting up an outdoor Camera Unit and live telecast of NSG Operation? Militants inside Taj Hotle and elsewhere got minute by minute live telecast of what is happening outside so that they could change their strategy according to the situation. Is there such irresponsible Media anywhere in the world? Why don't we hold Indian media responsible for killing of 180 men, women and children? In their quest for news byte, Indian Media directly helped Pakistani Terrorists
