Wasting money for what, farmer suicide?Does india have a supercar?
by Sanjay on Nov 12, 2011 07:08 AM

I may not agree with with everything the author says, but this is a waste of money proving who is the best dog mentality, top dog. A personiality trait of westerns always trying to prove themselves top dog.

Worshipping the west not developing our own technology and competing is shameless, slavish, and insult to our country. Who cares of western dog things.

Farmer suicides, drinking water!! all these linked with the only F1 race ever held in this country? And cricket the cleanest and most philantropic sport of them all ; the most powerful sport of the nation has done its bit in ensuring Farmers dont commit suicide or theres drinking water fro everyone???

Praful just say you dont like the sport and shutup!! You dont need to back it up with silly claims. Please dont make easy money by writing such lame articles.
The technology that is created in this sport is passed on to regular vehicles making them faster, lighter, safer.

India does not want to compete but honor like a good slave foreigners, kills its farmer, so they can entertain foreigners having so many engineers. Waste money building a track killing innocent people. What a good slave is India?

Is Vettel a robot?

If human factor does not matter then why Webber finished 4th and not 1st or 2nd? When Michael Schumacher used to win more than 10 races in a season, why was Rubens Barrichello winning only one or two races in a year with the same car? Mr. Bidwai should know that a single mistake at any of the corner in any any of those 60 laps would have coasted Vittel the victory.

Even playing cards have higher risk?Ever gambled?

Why celebrate western race with western technology. If India cannot make its own super cars and compete having too many engineers, and scientist, but waste money on entertainment of Westerns than what a slave is this country.

Mr. Bidwai, seriously, you expect the corporates to do charity? Why would they? Do you know how people with attitude such as yours have run down the country? Can you tell me where the jobs are? How to create jobs? F1 did create jobs for people and they don't want your brand of unionists there. You want to make people lazy by providing them with fish, never teach them how to fish. you know that will keep them poor and people like you can take the moral high ground. Have you or will you ever criticize China? No you won't though you know fully well that China abandoned Marxian economics long time back. Yes China's F1 was a marvel a triumph of communism. Who knows how many were slave laboured in to it. By writing such articles people like your goodself, Arundati Roy lose credibility in the eyes of the common man .. keep it coming

No you are incorrect. India should compete having so many engineers and not be the entertainment for these Westerners playing host killing the locals to get F1 race completed. When will India compete and have its own super car instead of being a good slave..

Dear Sanjay,

In what sense what i posted is wrong?
Ask Mr. Bidwai, he will say your super car idea is meant for the entertainment of the elite of India. They won't let you move forward or backward. You have to be poor, a slave of Marx. That is your fate. Answer my question. F1 did provide entertainment for the westerner's but it also provided jobs for the not so lucky who didn't make it as engineers. Who is the majority and to whom you want to create jobs? Please do ponder!

The article is completely one sided, perhaps the writer must drive a car first and see the thrill of speed on Road. Because u like cricket does not mean other sport activities are bad. try a skoda at 145 kmph atleast then write the article. wear your seat belt and helmet along would be helpful too. try in golden quadrilateral not in the city. then write about F11.

waste of fuel
by Mr Walker on Nov 09, 2011 11:03 AM  | Hide replies

I personally think this is waste of precious fuel and causes unnecessary pollution in this world.
Also since our country has so much poverty and lack of basic infrastructure the money spent on such sports should be first used to improve these.

Absolute Rubbish !!!
by Shantanu Biswas on Nov 09, 2011 07:39 AM  | Hide replies

In India for every single issue there would be a few who would grudge. Its their job and their only way to come to limelight. The article is an instance for the same.

I am also a middle class person. I too love following F1 and would encourage private enterprises to promote sports. Its only the private companies who can bring our nation into the forefront of the sporting world.

Today its F1 tomorrow it could be Athletics, Basketball, Table Tennis, Badminton etc etc. In no country across the globe, government puts in 100% effort in cultivating sports. It has always been a public private partnership.

Instead of grudging and bickering over, we should encourage private companies to contribute more towards ALL forms of sports.

And whats wrong with Capitalism????

I mean, the word has existed in various forms for the last 2000 years and would be there till eternity.

There might be few blips of idealism being portrayed in between our human existence (read Marx etc). But they are idealism and cannot be replicated FOR LONG in any society. The reason is we are MATERIALISTIC in nature. We humans have always been that.

So as long as we all don't turn up into saints one day... CAPITALISM will thrive and flourish more and more.

BTW the writer of this article is delusional and has been suffering from psychological deficiencies for last two years.
