I completly agree with the remarks, the indian media is always news hungry and always wants sensational news, if there is no news then they make it sensational.
Now a days journalism is not a nobel profession. Media must have to think seriously about it.
I fully agree with the viws of Mr.Katju on media.Today's 90% media is News hungry and sometimes News creaters out of nothing.Most of the time media is pro-establishment and wants to make hay when sun shines.They give or publish news which suits their interests more thsn the interest of the public.And most objectinable part of media is its Sickular image which is responsible for the division of society on communal lines.
I agree with many of the points that Justice Katju makes but he should remember that if the freedom to be foolish is removed, there is no freedom left. Maybe his ideas could be tried out as an experiment for a limited period, say 6 months.
It is very easy to prove that justice Katju is right. If you take any article in the media you will come across dozens of logical inconsistencies, not to mention fallacies, non-sequitors and other lapses and errors. This shows that Katju is right. For example media talk all the time about secularism. But what do they mean by it? Can they tell us what exactly is meant by secularism? No which means these people adont know what they are talking, they are only parroting nonsense. QED. Justice Katju is right.
caliber people and hardly have any subject knowledge on the news that they cover.They simply create some 'tamasha' and are more about business than news. On top of they they take money from political parties, for example some of them have been paid a large sum to promote islamic rule in india by oil nations and ISI.
