notion of "no afterlife"
by Iftekhar Ahmad on Mar 14, 2018 11:44 AM

This statement is said prematurely, "there was nothing beyond the moment when the brain flickers for the final time", and is nothing but a belief.
The correct version would probably be "there is nothing "worldly" beyond ..."
It might be possible that in future many un-worldly things get revealed/discovered/understood and this notion of "no life after death" can change.
So, scientists should know their limits and say according to that.
A person who believes in afterlife can also say, in a similar way, that the notion of "no afterlife" is a "fairy story" for people who are not afraid of life after death.

Nothing comes from nothing
by NSuren Nimalan on Mar 14, 2018 10:00 AM  | Hide replies

Even a child can easily understand that "nothing comes from nothing". Take any object whether animate or inanimate it must have come from something. When it is so, how can a gigantic universe appeared from nothing? Besides we have never seen anything attractive or beautiful appears after a bomb blast or an an accident. The whole universe is so beautifully arranged scientifically which no one till now can fathom, which definitely can not been born from a blast called the "Big Bang". It's a sane logic! Rest in "peace" dear Hawking

Agreed. He should have I don't know, mind is limited after all. His disability made him appear to be genius like Einstein but unfortunately he is not. Every individual is capable exploring if the effort is in the right direction

Let him see it for himself
by NSuren Nimalan on Mar 14, 2018 09:49 AM  | Hide replies

Well the taste of the pudding is in the eating, Now he has gone, he will see for himself whether there is life after life, or not! It is so foolish to think that there is nothing beyond our small intelligence.

And what is your basis for being so sure about afterlife (apart from being repeatedly told about it from childhood) ?

Look at his contribution man.
He is talking scientifically, something which can be proven and is proven.
Whereas as he said, after life and heaven are fantasies of people who are afraid of death.

can predict it. He is just a theorist and have a knowledge in cosmology only. If I ask him to make a microwave trap for molecule,he can't do it.
