Governor is wrong
by palanki narayana on May 16, 2011 11:05 AM  | Hide replies

The MLAs whose disqualification is set aside by the Supreme Court pledged their support to the CM.Loss of majority can be ascertained only by the floor test. When NTR government was dismissed without floor test, the Centre had to backtrack, restore the government that enjoyed the majority and remove the governor who made the wrong recommendation.Governor has to go strictly by the numbers, however fast the numbers may be changing. We have the precedence set by governor Dharma Vira in a similar situation.

well said. common sense.
but NTR was a mega star. he was able to storm back to power every time on his own in a very difficult state. smaller folks cannot so easily return to power every time, however unfairly they may have been treated.

BJp is ruling in karnataka becos they proved their majority in the house with the help of speaker. Now that speakers decision has been squashed by the SC, let the bjp govt prove its majority on the floor of the house.

If there has been a constitutional problem, then congress should amend the constitution so that such a problem never arise in future

India is a discreet democracy.
1. Anti-defection law prevents your MLA/MP to vote against corrupt/incompetent govt
2. And 80% Indians surviving on 20 rupees/day will not vote as per their conscience
