NDA is the change India needs
by Rationalist on May 14, 2011 05:28 PM  | Hide replies

It was during NDA when India turned from aid receiver(begging which Congies did for 50 years) to aid giver as Vajpayee declared that India will not accept foreign aid, instead will provide aid to needy countries. Along with Pokran tests, economic reforms, telecom reforms India first took Baby steps to Superpower status of which Congies never had a vision and still not interested.

mr agent of rome whatthebleep ,does evangelisingChristianity really do a better job of solving social problems? The evidence that it does is very thin. Christianityfailed miserably to bring peace to northern Ireland, in fact, it was the main cause of the problem. Germany's long tradition of CatholicismandProtestantism did not prevent Nazism taking root there. South Africa's Dutch ReformedChurch was an ardent supporter of apartheid and all its oppression and cruelty. The prevalence of evangelicalChristianity in the southern United States, the so-called'BibleBelt,' has not prevented it being the poorest and most raciest part of that country. And the racial segregation in the south is never more obvious than on Sunday morning when black and white people still go to separatechurches; 'Hallelujha and praisetheLord but worship him in yourowncurch!

Why you consider Pakistan as a scale ? What I meant to say is a pure dictator ship, which go smoothly in Gulf. Don't you see their progress. If some one found guilty, then punishment should be immediate and not after their death. India progressed will in earlier stage with the vision of Nehru and like others. Pakistan and India got freedom same time. On account of lack of people like Nehru Pakistan could not progress. The balance of India lost when the rule gone to Janata Party first. Enough chances have given to JP and B JPs. ALL ARE SAME. Once you loose control you loose for ever. You recall EMERGENCY ? How well all administration done. People will have bitter experience also.

When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said "Let us pray." We closed our eyes. When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land.- Desmond Tutu

The Common people's verdict is in favour of the VS led LDF Goverment. But the religious fractions (Muslim & Christians in Malappuram & Kottayam)and a Group(Pinarayi) in the CPI(M) itself (in Palakkad & Kannur), made it sure that the VS wouldnot come back to power again, as it will be against their interests.

Kerala elections
by ramachandran nair on May 14, 2011 05:14 PM  | Hide replies

UDF has no reason to feel elated since Congress, the leader of the front has got less seats than the CPIM. It only shows that the electorate has not seen the UDF (particularly the Congress) with any expectation. On the contrary, the LDF has every reason to feel satisfied that the the verdict was not against the anti-incumbacny factor, as it used to be on earlier occasions.

Christian and Muslim dominated?
by cooldrango on May 14, 2011 05:03 PM  | Hide replies

As the second largest partner, IUML emerged with flying colours in its bastions in north Kerala, including the Muslim-dominated Malappuram district, bagging 20 of the 24 seats it contested.

The Christian-dominated KC-M also did well in the central districts like Kottayam winning nine of the 15 seats it contested.

Even the Church decides on political issues.

Christian and Muslim dominated? The moment you start speaking about Hindus it becomes communal. It is high time the Hindus of Kerala stop voting for the CPM and start thinking the same way as the Christians and Muslims.
