Support for Taliban is inhuman
by Raimer Rainer on May 12, 2011 08:23 PM

It is really agonizing that the PM has enlisted his strong support for the path of reconciliation with the Taliban. The PM should know that the Taliban have been responsible for gross violation of human rights and violence throughout the Af-Pak region. Has the country deviated from its principles of Ahimsa under the PM that he needs to advocate reconciliation with violent groups with an ideology of intolerance?

India needs additional forces in Afghanistan
by Vishnu Sharma on May 12, 2011 08:06 PM  | Hide replies

To protect our engineers, mechanics, doctors and businessmen serving in that country.

India should consider Afghanistan as almost a protectorate and help growth, sports, education and prosperity percolate to all levels.

For this an armed presence of Indian troops is also needed. We may need half a million troops in Afghanistan.

Given the neighborhood we are living in, the current size of the Indian armed forces are not enough. We need to augment our armed forces to 5 million army, half a million airforce and navy and 1 million counterinsurgency troops.

We also need to develop expertise in manning and using drones effectively.

This is a good start. May India's influence and presence NEVER EVER waver in Afghanistan
and may this relationship go from strength to strength when the Americans eventually pull out of Afghanistan.

Protectorate? Are you on the moon? Dream on. India needs to make education and health for its people a main priority. We need to create responsible politicians, honest police, efficient bureacrats. Stop screwing your own countrymen before helping others.

A Marxist like you will always want to run down the potential of the Indian people.

I want to tell you clearly and give a clear warning to you.

You will be hunted like an animal and destroyed in a few years time, when the Indian people have been educated to see who is the enemy within, the Marxist will be the first person to be cornered and exterminated in a blink of an eye.

We will strangle every Marxist in India.

Nice red carpet from Afghans for India

Great to know they are going for strategic relations rather than same old lousy paki mentality of terrorism and militancy.
