Is the political will. Even If a country , more so, a big one like India does not have the capability,it can be built over a period of time. India had such capability during Indira's time even though rescources were scarce at that time. Today, India has the rescources owing to a rapidly growing economy. Only thing required is the political will, determination and courage. If these can be summoned, we can put in place a policy of deniable covert action inside enemy territory.

BRING BACK DAWOOD/I ,H/SAID ETC. DEAD OR ALIVE
by damodaran mohan on May 06, 2011 04:13 PM  | Hide replies

It is really ironical that Pakistan of all countries should be making so much noise after their cover of duplicitous behavior was blown up. The U.S. did the right thing in carrying out the daring operation to get at its enemy sheltered deep inside Pakistan. Similarly India has equal right to such operations to get at its fugitives like D-company or others involved in Mumbai attack. What is the alternative left for a country concerned if Pakistan instead of acting or turning them over, shelters clandestinely even while assuring of co-operation to nab them. It is a different thing that India doesn't have the covert capabilities anymore for such an operation to be successful but that doesn't mean India should not get such capabilities to get at its most wanted like Dagwood & co. or likes of others likes of H/Saied, Lakvi A/Manhood etc. For that to happen our leaders need to be sensitive to the feelings of relatives of terror victims and of the sacrifices of securities forces. Unfortunately that is missing.

COLLECTIVE DICTETORSHIP
by Debasish Sarkar on May 06, 2011 02:25 PM  | Hide replies

ISI,Military Estublishment, ans so called Civilian administration Plus Fringe association with Home and Foreign Terrorist groups [Example-Taliban, Al-Quaeda and Kashmiri Mujahidins]. These above mentioned Conglomeratets are running Pakistani show. In between these groups, ISI and Army-Heads are the key linchpin of Collective Dictetorial Wheel. These Criminals are seating on Pakiland's chest and her ordinary Citizens are now become nothing but Bonded slaves ( so they have no voices-"Silence of Lambs").
My serious Question to Americans-"Why on Earth, You Guys are supporting and propping up this most despicable regime on earth?

WHAT ELSE GENERAL VK SINGH COULD HAVE SAID MR.PM?
by damodaran mohan on May 06, 2011 01:51 PM

Bashir Quote:"I only see them ...........Indian establishment and their armed forces to subvert the agenda of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.I don't think ..subscribe to this".Unquote.Bashir's above quote perhaps beautifully summarizes Pak establishment's firmly entrenched faith in our PM, MMS and his govt.irrespective of any level of terror attacks from Pak soil. So far, from Govt. sources we have not had any comments on the ‘gutsy’ U.S. operation although the HM did respond against question from NDTV on India’s similar capabilities implying that such thoughts are ‘foolish’ or words to that effect. However, the army chief on being asked said that yes, India has the capabilities, no more to which there has been the recriminations of the kind seen as above from Bashir. In this context can we know from our PM or govt. sources what else the army chief could have said ? “No, we don’t have the capability. Or, we don’t intend have this capability or rather, we are always for talks and dialogue with Pakistan, there is no question of even entertaining such thoughts …no mixing of terror and dialogue please…”!?!?!?

Poor fellow, thoroughly insulted world wide, talking tough
by Argumentative Indian on May 06, 2011 01:50 PM  | Hide replies

India does not need to do any misadventure into Pakistan. The Pakisntanis themselves will do sufficient misadventures inside their own borders to make their lives miserable!

India, however, should and must do the following urgently, which I'm sure our leadership will NEVER DO(!):

1) Push for family planning in a big way
2) Pass the LokPal bill
3) Open up Indian Defence Equipment / Armament Industry - allow certain levels, less than 50% ofcourse, foreign investment & allow private players to work here.
4) Junk the Nuclear Power idea - focus completely on nuclear weapons build up for India
5) Go out of the way to make peace with China, give them the concessions we are dying to give Pakistan & finally sign a water tight treaty of military & civillian cooperation with the Chinese.
