If it was oil only, the west would support Qaddaffi. Qaddafi carried on too much to hit Benghazi civillians with a threat of NO MERCEY and...GOING DOOR TO DOOR..TO PUNISH THE HIS OWN PEOPLE. No choice left for west. This war is bad for them too.
even before War ,libya's oil was used by western nations . It was only after the discovery of oil in libya ,Western nations started patrionazing Gadaffi and somehow political thorn of Lockerbie bombing was forgotten . Arguing that Libyan war is all about OIL sounds illogical b'cose had the westeren nations wanted to eliminate Gadaffi they could have achieved it long back with some fabricated reasons of abetting terroism e.t.c .

I think that every third-rate author wants to flaunt his intelletual abilities by dismissing US or European military actions as business interests. It may only be partly true because I am sure that a driver-to-the-wall Gaddaffi will offer much more to these nations if they support him now and help him quell the dissidence. On the contrary, it is not clear what the new government be like or what it will offer those countries that are providing military help today.
