i too wondered and only reason i could think is because - even BJP is NOT clean as it's claiming. So, it's having a very careful approach that won't boomerang on it after exposing congress.

but what is still amazing is, inspite of all these tragedies, we hindus don't work towards unity among us. followers of Religions from outside india, such as Islam or christianity have shown far better unity than the religion of the soil which is hinduism. We still have caste, cultural, traditional and regional religion based differences. I agree, that Gandhi kept quite during the famines in which nearly 90lakh people died. The previous famines in 1890's and 1920's have taken a toll of 28 lakhs lives. But gandhi was not able to go for armed struggle because we never looked like one, who could be trusted for armed struggle. Communalism, casteism, regionalism over shaddowed and still shadowing nationalism. An united armed struggle against british from the arrival of them to india has always been a distant dream. Example: when Britishers attacked Tipu sultan breaching the peace treaty with him. The Nawab of Hyderabad and the marathas, who were till then fighting against british attacked Tipu for their selfish gains. Tipu was cornered and this incident paved way for british colonization in south India which was'nt possible till Hyder ali's regime. Has the marathas kept quite, outcome would have been completely different. Worst still, British defeated marathas later using the resources of Tipu. Let's stop blaming leaders.
