Madam already took revenge of that by making a immature and puppet person as PM. Now see the loot which has happened and is continuing because Madam got angry for not allowing her to become PM.
Just as it was the BJP which made Dr. Abdul Kalam president. CON-crass opposed it tooth and nail. Again it was CON-crass which scuttled Kalam's chances of becoming President for the second time, which the whole nation wanted.
Politicians are only a reflection of the kind of society and the times we live in. You can't overcome human failings like greed. Through excellent governance, simplification of rules and procedures, constant vigil and awareness corruption can be minimized though not uprooted. This what great men have discovered centuries ago.
That is now to say that corruption is pardonable, but mismanagement (of which corruption is an integral part) is a greater malaise.

@Moshadi - Nice argument. But, one thing that differs here is - during Apartheid the colored people were not given voting rights. It is similar to Britishers occupying india. The 'majority' were ruled by a 'minority'. I belive what ujwala (the OP) is mentioning here is apt in india. _All_ have voting rights, and the politicians are indeed a reflection of the 'aam admi' of India.

I am sure that you've never lived in Ahmedabad or Gujarat. I have been to those places myself and spoken to people. Its just literature dolled out by paid media. BJP alone is not to be blamed for that. Its time for you to retrospect.

every word is very true, dear thnaks for ur time for writing all this to awake people, 01 example i can give you of BJP goverment IN BJP govt, LPG cylinder distributors hawkers were coming to HOME madam cylinder lena hai (without black, on original prioces ) as no blackmarketing was there, but now when up to this stupid congress govt is there, u can not get a refil cylinder with in 45 days, get off manmohan idiot

Indians are educated illeterates. It makes us mug up and vomit on examination day. Our Education System "Macaulean" is controlled by the church (Read Convents) and it is making clerks out of all of us with no commitment to nation building. There's no scope for Leadership, Decision Making in our education. No doubt our IIT'ns IIM's are producing students who are drawing hefty packages but after all u earn 3L or 30L ur still a clerk.

BJP is not like free of corruption. But, it is the cleanest in the given set of corrupt, ant- national parties... If BJP can attract some clean people like him, seshan and others...I feel like glow which India lost may come back a bit.. with congress and its corrupt, anti-national, pseudo-secular politicians, India has lost the image and more importantly its total lack of trust and confidence.
Who need be corrupt at all? Nobody need be corrupt. It is greed that makes anybody corrupt and politicians have greater chances to make use of their power to quench their greed.
