Well said. America may be hand in glove in swindling money from India. It may be protecting its own interests by keeping MMS and Sonia at the helm of affairs. India is still rich in mineral resources. It will take slow social poisoning to clean up the patriots. The media is being used for this end.

Thanks for the typical Indian thinking. Blame everyone else for your problems and then show helplessness. Good going.

Government-Corporation nexus
by Bhagat Singh on Jun 16, 2011 07:23 PM

This has been said by many Indian activists for years but I hope some people open their eyes at least when an independent journo confirms this. Government and corporation have joined hands to screw Adivasis and people who raise against injustice are simple termed Naxals. Many of them have no idealogical linking to Naxals - they just want to protect their land and farms. When will be leave them in peace???

"Even if they are paid a compensation when their land is taken away, it's way below the value of the land and a lot of it gets lost in corruption. It's not enough to buy any new land so their way of life is lost. I saw some Adivasis scavenging for coal on the edge of the mines, others were migrating to cities and becoming day labourers on construction sites and losing contact with their old way of life," he said - Well said, Sir!

Two sides of India
by satish ingle on Jun 16, 2011 04:51 PM

Read the below from the article:
But it was seeing children aged eight carrying chunks of coal weighing 20 kilos in their hands across coalfields barefoot that shocked him the most.
And to other side, urban children are suffering from diabetics due to bad eating habits and eating junk food.

India is following western development model
by satish ingle on Jun 16, 2011 04:39 PM  | Hide replies

what is expected when India is following western model of development? There is no sustainability. Its just take from the nature and destroy it instead of returning it to the nature. The mighty will always suppress the adivasis or the poor ones..!!

true ... the western model is not at all sustainable and thrives on capitalism where a section of ppl will always be exploited to fill the pockets of the upper class ... the Indian Govt should establish Vedic lifestyle all over the nation ... this will ensure sustainability and protection of the environment ...
